Cech is overrated. If he played in any other league he would be viewed only as a decent keeper.

Cech..... if you're gonna talk mistakes, give the guy credit.... he's made the last of all of them in the past season or 2....

and his ability alone is better than the other 3.... plus, Van der Sar can't kick!

hahaha, at Almunia, there's mid table sides with better keepers - Friedel, Howard, Schwarzer
"Inzaghi is simply a penis with ears," - Reggina

Its van der Sar. No bias from me. Cech comes second.

cech has age on his side with relfexes and speed, but ever since the head collision he doesnt seem to have as much confidence coming out for crosses imo lose the headgear and he will regain his confidence.

van der sar reads the play better from his years of top level football but age is starting to catch up considering they are talking about him being gk coach at united therefore he is on the way out. Foster will take his place and you guys wont even remember vds.

bring back big nev i say....

james had a better year than all top 4 keepers was called on alot more and proved his worth

and completely agree with oldredback he knows what is going on

think the question should be how they match up to keepers of clubs in other leagues

I've picked the best 5. If I am wrong in terms of EPL and La Liga, then correct me cause I dont have much idea.

Serie A is my own opinion, I rate Carrizo highly based on his reputation and the highlights I've seen. None of the Milanese rate a mention because they bring Italian goalkeeping into disrepute with their inconsistency.

England - VDS, Cech, Reina, James, Gomes
Italy - Julio Cesar, Frey, Doni, Carrizo, Buffon,
Spain - Casillas, Valdes, Hildebrand, Coupet, Palop

no cause they were in desperate need for a short term fill in. He had experience at international and UCL level, he seemed a good replacement.

Even fergie said it was just a short term fix up
but credit where it's due

he's stepped up well for the USA. I'll give him that

It's not like he didn't win a Champions League with Ajax or anything. Surely he must be crap if he did that.

Arsene wouldn't have any intention of selling him until 2010-2011 i'd say.

Fabianski is coming through and he'll be number one in 3 years
