Really glad to hear that young Sam Draper finally makes his debut for Essendon tomorrow evening v Brisbane Lions. He has been touted to do well and no doubt his debut would have come sooner if it was not for suffering a ruptured ACL in May.
I remember Sam as a teenager playing 'proper football' (soccer)for South Adelaide Panthers, a promising defender at that time so I was dismayed to learn that he had left to play footy for Reynella (The Wineflies). I thought at the time what wasted talent. How wrong could I be?
Well done Sam, do your parents proud and go out and have a blinder.
