W League

Post by Rightside »

Heather Garriock appointed Coach of Canberra United is great news for the game, I wonder if Sydney had tried to get her earlier. I am sure she will do well there.

Which gets me thinking about our W League..... There is no confirmation that Huss is or isn't coaching Adelaide this year? I had heard himself and Simon Catanzaro were going to be watching the WNPL every week, have not seen either of them at a game. Also heard the squad from 2016/2017 were still training together in the off-season and training with the United youth team but are no longer doing that?

I know its still ages away especially with Adelaide's track record but has anyone heard any rumours besides the possibility that Pezos will be head coach?

I think United will focus on organizing the men's side of things before they look at the women's- SNAFU

Ante is a great appointment for Sydney- lots of experience coaching women at the highest levels. Hopefully Adelaide will get moving to appoint a W-League coach sooner than the last couple of years- but I'm not holding my breath.

Has Huss Skenderovic been sacked from the position of W-League coach?

Not to my knowledge. But local girls from last year's squad are no longer training with youth reserves and the silence about the coming year is deafening. Feels like every year in the past when there hasn't been a coach in place until very late in the game. I don't know anything - I"m just assuming that there'll be a change.
