An entertaining day at O'Sullivan Beach as the lead changed several times during the course of the game and finishing 4-4 which was a fair indication of the game.
Despite conceding very early it was Southern Knights who appeared to have a slight upper-hand early on in the game with Tom Foglia and Robert Marsden having chances either missed or denied.
Elizabeth Grove's defense, bolstered by the addition of former Playford keeper Travis Wordsworth and the former Las Palmas player Jared Bastable helped keep Knights at bay.
Eventually two fine finishes, one from Robert Marsden managed to level the game at 1-1 and later Tom Foglia gave the home side the lead which they held until the half time interval.
Grove were quick off the mark once again and levelled the game at 2-2 only minutes after the re-start.
Knights re-established a 3-2 lead when Chris Bradley pounced on a parry by Wordsworth from another Tom Foglia strike.
Elizabeth Grove's fighting spirit surfaced again as they headed home at the near post to make it 3-3 and followed up quickly with a 4th. from a Knights defensive mix up.
Into stoppage time Grove seemed to have all 3 points in the bag until a Grove player, smothering the ball after a series of blocked shots, was judged to have obstructed play by experienced referee Kim Massinis.
After a short lay off, David Mooney deftly drove the ball into the roof of the net to bring the game back to level terms at 4-4 and leaving no time for further changes to the scoreline.
All in all, a hard fought game that was fairly balanced all over the park.

Within minutes Elizabeth Grove level the game at 2-2..

Grove captain Mark Kelly, somewhat of a nemesis to Knights ( after all 4 goals for the Downs against them in the 2012 Challenge Cup ) covered plenty of ground...

Elizabeth Grove's Reserves took the game right up to Southern Knights Reserves and looked the more switched on side but somehow Southern Knights were able to go to the break
with a 1-0 lead thanks to a well taken headed goal from Ben 'Touch' Vidgeon.
After the break it was a different story as Knights brought on Sam Ferguson late arrival Anthony Micheal to liven up their attacking option.
Charlie Hollis was on hand to grab Knights second goal, Anthony Michael added a third and Sam Ferguson added the fourth goal.
A little lapse in concentration and a bit of fighting spirit from Grove saw them grab a goal and create other opportunities to add more.
