Adelaide City championees

Sturt Marion girls could not field a team so forfeited. Apparently Marion and City were to play last Thursday night but FFSA stopped it wanting all games played at same time but Marion were never going to field a team today.

Congrats to City.

Big result for Toros, well done.

Prems; Uni 4-2 Fulham. Was a very close and competitive game until 2 late goals for Uni.

Well done to AC. Totally agree on coach, it's not the first time he shows his abilities with a group that on papers looks much less strong than other star-filled teams. AC girls played best football IMO, well deserved victory.

Division 1
Adelaide City 1 Metro United 3

Metro div 1 have won the league championship!

Division 1 went right down to the wire! All top 4 teams were still in with a chance leading up to the final round! It was a fantastic league with all teams so closely matched.

Congrats Metro Div 1! A solid season. Xx

Toros vs Cumberland

Without taking anything away from Toros - it was a very very messy game on a sandy pitch.

I think the refs ended their season early because they missed some important calls, gave away free kicks for clean tackles but let dangerous tackles slide. And the linesman couldnt even keep up with the game, letting some pretty poor offsides go which resulted in Toro's second goal.

I saw a Cumby played hand something sharp that she found on the pitch to the ref and not even 2 minutes later I saw him put it back on the ground & stand on it to try and bury it - it didnt work. Cumby moved it off the pitch at the start of the second half.

Then the game was ended early beceause the Toro's keeper went down. & I'm glad shes ok - but if the ref had given them another minute they had her on her feet and walking off the pitch. I would have liked to see the game finished, thats all.

Just to clarify something, there were concerns the Torros keeper had injured her back and with the ref saying there was under 2 min remaining and not knowing how long before she would or could be moved, he decided to call the game.
BTW, she is ok but still very sore and seeking teatment

Sorry for the condition of the pitch but it has been a long season with juniors, men & women playing every week and we are at the mercy of the council for maintenance.

Don't get me wrong - I am glad the keeper is ok, I guess I'm just used to refs having the respect and decency to talk to the team before ending the game but there was no communication from the officials.

& no need to apologise for the pitch, everyone had to play on it. It wasnt a one sided disadvantage - just letting people know the result isnt as black & white as it may seem.

onwards to next season though!

Well done to Adelaide City on a deserved title based on a very consistent season.

Adelaide Uni would be reeling ... their teamsheet debacle (because of the 'heat') and subsequent loss of 3 points has cost them the title (Would have won by one point I think).

Fantastic result by Toros to knock off Cumberland. Well done to Leigh and the girls.
