Mount Gambier pre-season tournament 10-12 March 2007

The South Australian Women’s Soccer Assoc (SAWSA) in conjunction with Western Borders Soccer Assoc (WBSA) will once again be conducting the Mount Gambier Pre-Season Tournament. This tournament will be held from Saturday 10 – Monday 12 March 2007.

Date of the Tournament
The date of the tournament has been organised to coincide with the Adelaide Cup Long Weekend in South Australia and Labour Day in Victoria. This will ensure that games can be played all day Saturday and Sunday and possibly Monday morning if required.

Age Groups
At this stage we will be conducting two age groups, Under 15s and 17s, however if sufficient interest is gained, an Under 13 age group will also be conducted. To be eligible to participate in the Under 15s, players must not turn 16 years of age in 2007 and players must not turn 18 years of age to be eligible for the Under 17 age group. If the Under 13 age group is conducted, to be eligible, players must not turn 14 years of age in 2007. Age exceptions may be granted to country teams but this will be at the discretion of the tournament co-ordinator.

Format of the Tournament
Once all nomination forms have been received the format of the tournament will be provided to all clubs. The format of the tournament will be designed to ensure that all teams have a minimum of 4 games.

Cost
The purpose of this tournament is to encourage players to participate, a very minimal fee will be applied to all players, $20.00 per player. This fee will assist to cover the cost of ground hire, referees, trophies and the many other incidentals that go with hosting such an event.

Nomination Form
To date we are seeking expressions of interests from clubs to nominate teams. A nomination form has been included. Please complete the nomination form and return it to SAWSA by the close of business Friday 1 December 2006. Once we all of the nomination forms have been received, additional information regarding the tournament will be sent out.
