from what I have heard Grove were certainly under-strength. A couple of regular ressies cup tied to the first team so they had to call up a few from the C grade. Would have weakened what is already not a very strong side.

Some would say the same about your first team against the Vale.

what a tool

we had only 4 regular reserve players as the rest were cup tied, our C grade lads who stepped up to play
for this game and the last round did well. You will get spanked in the semis, or have you already won the cup, because that's what you wankers were singing after the game.

Elizabeth Downs vs Stirling in the ressies cup today. Downs supporter commented that the Stirling boys looked fit. Comment from his mate; "That's because they train at altitude". Brilliant.
Enjoyable competitive game played in a good spirit. Stirling boys got a little uptight about a few feisty challenges late on but are quite capable of looking after themselves.
Downs edged the chances created and the Stirling keeper pulled of a few great saves keeping his team in with a good chance of pulling one back right to the final whistle.

Game was played in good spirits.

Rob Saraceno did his hammy in the 1st 20 which will be the season for him.

Could have gone either way as Beograd missed the penalty but Fulham missed a golden 1 on 1 in the 2nd half as well.

However Fulham can't say they were hard done by as Beograd certainly did enough to say they could have won it in normal time as well.

Stirling boys definately looked fit, they ran all day. The keeper did keep them in the game, and Stirling had plenty of the play in the second half. They could not penetrate the downs defence, and even with the passages of play, never really troubled the downs goal.

Was a great day and enjoyable conditions to play.

Gardens 3-2 Bosa aet. Bosa leading with a minute to go. Gardens scored from a corner. And brooks was given too much space in the box and slotted the winner in extra time as gardens held on just. Great game to watch as both tems had chances to win, but i guess you get that when the best of sat plays the best of sunday.

Gardens 3 BOSA 2 AET 2-2 fulltime
Foster, Donovan & Brooks

Great effort by the lads, not at our best but still a gutsy typical cup like performance. 1 nil up with 10min to play 1-2 down with 2mins to play then Donners pops up for a late, late equaliser. Brooks got the winner in ET :D

Minds switch back onto the league this week and now the players, club and supporters can look forward to a big day out at Hindmarsh with the ressies also progressing against Farm

Great result for the lads today. Thought Vale had the best chance in the first half even though it was pretty even. Second half I think belonged to Brahma not to say the Vale lads didn't have their chances either.

Agree game played in very good spirits and looking forward to the semi final!!

Good day out at Florina..
End to end stuff before Daniel Nicholls opened up the scoring with an absolute cracker and then Mark Burbidge scoring just before half time. Second half was pretty even with Andy making a few saves, we scored just before the end of the game to make it 3 nil.
Would like to thank all the boys down at Florina for the BBQ after the game and will see you next week :D

So teams remaining in the cup would be...

A's
Beograd (Sun Div2)
Parafield Gardens (Sun Div 1)
Pontians (Sun Div 1)
Eliz Vale (Sun Div 1)

B's
Brahma Lodge (Sun Div 2)
Elizabeth Downs (Sun Div 1)
Parafield Gardens (Sun Div 1)
Wanderers (Sun Div 1)

Congrats to all, a semi at Hindmarsh beckons. Congrats to Gardens too, only club with a team in A's & B's.

Must've been one hell of a game at the Gardens!

Florina 0 Vale 3

Great way to bounce back from last week. Everyone lifted today and we put on a dominant performance. Unlucky to Florina who as usual were kind hosts with their legendary chicken wings after the game! Hopefully they stay up

Forgot to mention Brooksy's penalty miss :D ( made up for it with the winner though ).
Great tussle between Joe Tasovac and Paul Ebomo for the full 120 minutes.

I understand that Grove was under strength. But my comment was more directed at the attitude they had on the day, the could have fielded a strong side but if not switched on the result will be similar.
Anyway. Good luck to all in Semi's all strong sides left.

Surely Gardens favourites in the As and Downs in the Bs (given they got knocked out first round in the As).

Have to say gardens favourite in b team as well as they knocked out a farm team with 4 or 5 first team players as Farm were knocked out in Rd 1 as well.

They seem unstoppable in A and B teams ATM.

What diff does that make? I would have to say on seasons form Gardens would have to be favourite in A's and B's. Only thing we have got going for us is that we beat them at home this season.
