Chile's football association president Sergio Jadue and coach Claudio Borghi have told the nation's media they want the agreed game against the Socceroos suspended or postponed.
The no-show is set to cost the Chilean FA a miserly $150,000 for not honouring its contractual accord.
There has been a recent changing of the guard at the Chilean FA and the new regime does not intend to honour the previous arrangement.
"The ANFP (Chilean football association) makes efforts to suspend or postpone the visit to Australia arranged for the June 3 clash by the administration of (former president) Harold Mayne-Nicholls," stated Chile's todofutbol website.
Chile's pending withdrawal from the proposed international has also rocked the Socceroos' 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying preparation.
Serbia is also yet to commit to its intended match against Australia in Melbourne.
With less than seven weeks before the proposed internationals pencilled in for June 3 and June 7, the FFA will now struggle to host two worthy opponents for the Socceroos which is expected to affect the governing body's annual profit income statement.
However, the FFA has not given up hope of playing the two fixtures. "FFA is in negotiations with a number of potential opponents for possible friendly matches in Australia in early June," said an FFA spokesperson yesterday.
"FFA has not confirmed who those opponents will be and at what venues the matches will be played.
"However, negotiations are at an advanced stage and FFA is confident that they will be extremely exciting international fixtures and they will be announced when all of the contractual details have been finalised."
The Advertiser understands Socceroos boss Holger Osieck is not happy with the latest development.
After jagging a runner-up medal at the AFC Asian Cup and beating Germany 2-1 last week, the German mentor appears likely to play his next match under extreme pressure in the heat of 2014 FIFA World Cup battle, when the Socceroos kick-start round three of the Asian Football Confederation's qualifiers in September.
And Osieck's Socceroos national team master plan for 2011 is set to be thrown out now his squad members haven't yet received a definitive plan from the FFA.
FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Typical..should have acted on the Serbia match much faster. Oh well...no Socceroos for us AGAIN!!!
