Re: Tackle on Messi
I want to say it was just a really poor tackle. Not intentional, but possibly some frustration/anger being let out at the same time.
Makes a brilliant photo, though.

the tackle didn't look too bad in real time, but wow, that photo tells a different storySteelinho wrote:I want to say it was just a really poor tackle. Not intentional, but possibly some frustration/anger being let out at the same time.

Apparently the studs up rule applies only when it's against Barca...Dani Alves didn't even get a yellow card. Not saying it was as bad as Ujfalusi's but this definately deserved something.

Re: Tackle on Messi
There are heaps of studs up challenges that go unpunished every week, why would you bring up an Alves tackle from over a year ago? At least Alves was going for the ball, Ujfalusi was clearly frustrated and went in for a hack.Madridista612 wrote:http://www.as.com/futbol/articulo/ferna ... ftb_42/Tes

Re: Tackle on Messi
Game's gone soft. Player falls over, give a foul. It's supposed to be game for men FFS.
I'm all for eradicating the dangerous, over the top, leg breakers, but if you go through the ball first then collect the player on the follow through, that is not a foul. It's his own fucking fault for showing you the ball.
These days you're almost expected to win the ball cleanly without touching the player.

It doesn't have to be an "over the top leg breaker" to be a dangerous tackle. Whatever it's "supposed" to be, I'm pretty sure other people play it and interpret it in different ways. Saying it's a "game for men"... zzz. Do you really need an expression of your machismo?Nice One Cyril wrote:Game's gone soft. Player falls over, give a foul. It's supposed to be game for men FFS.

Re: Tackle on Messi
I don't recall saying that it didn't, I simply used that type of tackle as an example. If you miss the ball altogether then it's not a tackle is it? It's a foul.Chade wrote:It doesn't have to be an "over the top leg breaker" to be a dangerous tackle.
Do you really want to see a game with no tackling at all? Do you enjoy seeing players flinging themselves to the ground with the slightest touch?
Each to their own.

Theres nothing better than seeing a hard but fair challenge. I'm sick of this soft shit.
