I'm with you, be excellant to see some goals. :D
The goalkeeper is the jewel in the crown and getting at him should be almost impossible. It's the biggest sin in football to make him do any work.

Quigley has to start up front again imo, more effective there than in the midfield. Im guessing their might be a couple inclusions as well so will be interesting to see the final squad for the game.

Three omissions to go... my recommendations:

Numbers:
3, 6 and 21

No. 3 is too loose in defence and was part of the defence in the thrashing the week before her suspension.

Match Report:

A gallant Adelaide United FC’s Women’s Team has fallen 2-6 t1 Sydney FC Women at Hindmarsh Stadium in Round 9 of the Westfield W-League.

In wild and windy conditions, a second half brace from striker Racheal Quigley was not enough for the Lady Reds as Sydney FC took a 3-nil lead into the break before finding the back of the net a further three times to seal all three points.

Sarah Walsh beat the offside trap to open the scoring for the visitors in the 8th minute, before captain Heather Garriock surprised Reds keeper Sian McLaren as her attempted cross from the left ended up in the back of the net two minutes later.

United’s task became even more difficult in the 26th minute when the Lady Reds’ defence was caught square again, allowing Leena Khamis to swoop and make it 3-nil.

Staring down the barrel of another big defeat, United weathered the storm and started to create its own chances, Donna Cockayne with the Lady Reds’ best opportunity of the half as she found herself on the end of some fine interplay, striking a hard left footed shot only to see it go straight at Sydney FC keeper Nikola Deiter.

Reds Coach Mike Barnett brought on reserve goalkeeper Kristi Harvey for her first appearance of the season at the start of the second half, while Angela Fimmano was also introduced into midfield replacing Ruth Wallace.

United’s Women worked hard with the breeze to try and bridge the gap but they could not break through a well organised Sydney FC defence, Garriock producing another quality finish in the 74th minute to give Sydney its fourth.

But while the result may have been beyond them, United’s Women continued to press forward and Quigley broke through for the team’s first goal at home this season when she capitalised on a loose ball from a corner to fire home from close range.

An action packed injury time provided three more goals, Sydney FC substitute Brittany Whitfield getting her name on the score sheet before Quigley secured her double after a fine assist from Lauren Chilvers.

But just as the home fans were celebrating Quigley’s strike, Kyah Simon finished the game off for Sydney with a goal in the final minute to end the entertaining encounter that was played in trying conditions.

Despite the lop sided score line, Barnett will have found a number of positives to take out of the game as his young team continues to gain valuable experience as they go up against some of the best female players in the country.

The Lady Reds have one more chance to register a breakthrough win for the season when they travel to Canberra to tackle Canberra United in the final round of the competition next Saturday.

was an exciting game imo, 3 goals in 3 mins of injury time in 2nd half, not a terrible performance, Sydney just finished very well in front of goals.
