UEFA Champions League - Fc Porto vs Manchester United
UEFA Champions League Quarter Final, 2nd Leg.
Estádio do Dragão
Wednesday 15th April 2009
Thought I'd get this thread started as the game is a couple days away. Very, very nervous about this match. We have to get a win or a 3-3 draw which will be very hard considering our form of late.. especially as the game is away from home. I'm expecting our line up to look like this:
--------------------VDS--------------------
-----O'Shea---Vidic---Ferdinand---Evra-----
--------------Carrick---Fletcher-------------
------Ronaldo-----------------Rooney-------
-------------Tevez-----Berbatov-----------
Subs: Foster, Fletcher, Scholes, Evans, Neville, Park, Nani, Kiko

Is he still there? What has happened? Is he still injured? Don't think you have missed him too much - have had quite a good run without himMUFCBOY wrote: but in europe we miss hargreaves, so imporant to this team

Will be a good game and if porto play like they did in the first leg could see United bow out.Could be the upset of the round.Go Porto!!

If you're having Spurs problems I feel bad for you son
I've got 99 problems but the Yids ain't one.
PS: Spurs remain a quality side, I don't care what you say. The Feyernoord Jubileum Tournament doesn't win itself, you know.

Re: UEFA Champions League - Fc Porto vs Manchester United
Will be a tough ask for Man Utd, as no English team has ever won a game at Estádio do Dragão.
Should be a good match
Should be a good match

Supposed to be Giggs on bench.

Re: UEFA Champions League - Fc Porto vs Manchester United
yeah Hargreaves is still injured. He means quite a bit to the team and he definately helped us in the two semi finals and the final last year. The bad thing about him is that he is very injury prone but no doubt when he's fit he is a pretty good asset to the team.OldRedback wrote:Is he still there? What has happened? Is he still injured? I heard something like as soon as he recovered from a knee surgery, 2 weeks into his return to training he went and done the same thing to his other knee :? so yeah hes been out for ages lol

Yeah, if we played like we did against Inter especially in the away leg we will definately get a result at Porto.MUFCBOY wrote:fletcher is injured

Re: UEFA Champions League - Fc Porto vs Manchester United
Ronaldo's goal was pure quality. Dominating centre mid with Carrick and Anderson playing very well. Giggs not performing up to scratch but he still had a nice shot on goal.

Re: UEFA Champions League - Fc Porto vs Manchester United
Very happy with our performance at half time. We're playing as a team and a lot like last season. Anderson is playing well and Rooney is having a wild game aswell. Ronaldo went a little bit quite after he scored, but as soon as we attack and he gets the ball we always look dangerous. Evra is playing better than he has been and I think the rest that he had on the weekend has benefited him, although two of his 'clearances' have been woeful.. then I see him manage to pass the ball even when he's stumbling around and I remember why I love him.

Re: UEFA Champions League - Fc Porto vs Manchester United
Anderson is man of the match so far.Tracking back well, lots of energy and he's not wasting possession as he normally does...doing the simple things really well.

Re: UEFA Champions League - Fc Porto vs Manchester United
When he came off it said he had 26 passes with a 66% completion rate, i didn't watch the first half but that stat would suggest 1 out of 3 of all his passes missed its mark . Thats shocking, he runs a lot, hes a bit like fletcher and park in that respect, but i think hes massively over-rated, his shooting is even worse.messidona wrote:Anderson is man of the match so far.Tracking back well, lots of energy and he's not wasting possession as he normally does...doing the simple things really well.

Re: UEFA Champions League - Fc Porto vs Manchester United
great, absoloutly rapped with that win
1 of the great united performances
they we we passed n kept control of the ball was great, berba did really well 2nite, holdin the ball and sum nice little touches.
rooney was great too on the wing, always tracking bak, but the defence FINALLY kept a clean sheet. wat a difference rio and vida make ey??? we had no real threat 2 our goal, only from set peices
as for cristiano "best player in the world" ronaldo, goal was a fkn spanking craccker
barred up in bed while watchin that:P
my man of the match is outta rooney n carrick, but ill give it 2 carrick.
he cops alot of shit simpy for his price tag of 18 mil, but 2nite he showed y he is worth every bit of it. he was great goin 4ward, his passing was on song, but for me he was brillaint cause he was always puttin pressure on portos mids and he intercepted so many of there tackles. he really controlled that midfield i thought
in the semis, bring on arsenal, gonna b a cracker
r u watchin liverpool!!! r u watchin, r u watchin, r u watching liverpool!!!

you beauty! good win man u
could've only been better if Villareal made it and you had to go to spain, but now there's a better chance of you being knocked out before the final.
