Toughen Up

Post by billy the kid »

Interesting debate about the state of play and I won't bore you with details but a couple of forumites have been hard hitting in their commentary. I'll give my neutral perspective.

The reaction I have seen from a couple of people when responding to a certain persons postings is pretty hard hitting and involve personal attacks on anyone who dares to give an opinion. Those people have not added anything of substance to the discussion. In fact I don't recall the discussion topics becoming personal rather it was about the role the persons undertook a role (in the soccer community) and how things could be better. In fact the people who have support THAT person have been far more constructive than what some people have added by way of personal attacks.

In fact one of the respondents (one in particular) could be called a hypocrite because in days gone by, SHE was the one who was slandering people in ear shot of many people about their abilities, selections in state SASI etc, personal lives etc etc etc however on here, that person has jumped to the defence of those persons. I know she's mellowed and is careful not to upset anyone in a position of power coz she might be worse off.

Think carefully how you respond. Keep to the facts. "Attack the ball not the player". And don't go off on a tangent and bring people's names, etc into the equation. Toughen up and deal in facts.

Yes the game is in disarray. yes the interest is dwindling. Yes the W-League was a bit of a yawn (might improve). Yes things could be better. YES some good players are leaving the game. Yes some teams/clubs need to treat players with respect and vice versa. Yes some clubs will benefit from doing this.

Toughen up.

Again as a neutral player, its my opinion.

toughen up????? hahahahaha me???? yeah ok!!

people change if i want to change my views i think i am quite entitled too.
Also in reference to the SASI comment - I just believe SASI should be the "best" athletes in the state NOT a development squad.

oh well - each to their own...
