dissapointing end to season, any comments rob lozza?

Post by mahluf »

polonia 4 athelstone 3
wish we had won, so this wouldn't sound like sour grapes.
got to the ground and heard polonia people talking about their "guest" olayers. so to keep them honest , told referee 45 minutes before the game that we wanted a card check. referee re-appeared two minutes before kick off . i said " what about our card check" he said "don't bother about it" " i said we want one " he said " their cards were in the change rooms see him after." the game started and it was obvious that this wasn't the polonia team that was bottom of the league and had lost by nine goals two weeks before. four of their players had ffsa shorts. athelstone played really well for the first half and even got a handy lead. second half was different . a dodgy penalty, an even dodgier free kick. polonia got a sniff and really turned it on for the last twenty minutes. nothing was riding on the result , but when the polonia keeper caught the ball, put it on the ground, and when our players approached him, he picked it up again and kicked it, we appealed and the referee waved play on. good clean game by the players representing polonia. but the referee.....
well, glad ive got that off my chest. maybe it is sour grapes. have a great summer everyone it all starts again in january

You need to report this prick (the referee).

If you had the same team on the field as you did against us the week before, Polonia should not have even had a sniff. By far the worst side in Div4 and will struggle in Div5 next year if they don't improve. On the plus side, you were lucky that this result had no effect on your promotion chance.

Wonder what Polonia's federation players were thinking?

Extract from the FFA Match Officials' Code Of Ethics states that officials should "refrain from public statements about any game except to clarify an interpretation of the Laws".

West Beach circa 1990 and "The Slav Connection" in the back four of the Reserves. I was of course an "honorary member" and being of Istrian descent, that was considered close enough! Great fun, great days, memories and mates for life! :D
