SPOC V BOSA - Cancelled due to ducks playing on our pitch and they were there first according to them...... first in first served.....

JETS 2 - 1 Wanderers

great chance to see our closest rivals play in a massive game for Wanderers. Interesting the game went ahead seeing as the reserves play prior. But in all honesty the pitch was bad through the middle put not so bad on the sides, so a good old english clash it would be. Luckily for us Jets were the only English team playing and didnt really give Wanderers a sniff. Jets played the pitch very well and scored early on with a very well worked goal with Miller ending his drought with a finely taken goal. Wanderers then earnt a penalty through a silly challenge from robbo (done by the pitch really) and Tossavic duely put the penalty in with ease, but was his only contribution and was far to easily held by the Jets defence all day. Jets then scored again through the ever present Prescott, who seemed in the mood today, regardless of the linesman attempting to give offside far to late after the play had continued. A fine finish with another good move from the Jets. The main issue for Wanderers today was their fluid passing game was severely resticted by the state of the pitch and Jets played well by getting the ball out of the muck and often resorting to just getting it long and putting the pressure on.
BEST PLAYERS - Jets --> 3rd - Hutchy (Dominated the midfield and missed last week - quality player), 2nd T. Prescott (Certainly a handful, and created much of the play by not trying to do too much), 1st --> Adam M (great game for a youngster playing out of position and totally dominated and set up a lot of the play). All Jets players had super games.

A's: African Allstars 2 Navarino 1
B's: African Allstars 3 Navarino 1

Awful conditions but both games went ahead. Actually it was only one side of the pitch that was really bad and it posed more of a threat to the linesman on that side than the players. Pooring with rain through a lot of the reserves match plus the A's being a big match for both meant that the reserves was a hard one to get in to. 1-1 at half time before the Africans scored two goals within minutes of each other to make it 3-1.

The the main game the Africans took the lead after four minutes and could have had a second soon after. Late in the first half they had a player sent off for the usual reason (lack of discipline) and Navarino equalized in first half stoppage time. The Africans restored their lead ten minutes into the second half. Navarino had a lot of chances and failed to put them away. Possibly had a good shoult for a penalty too but that was waved away and the Africans held on for a much needed victory, which takes them out of the relegation zone at their opponents expense.

I would say weather and unplayable pitch. The big question is when it will rescheduled, along with the St Peters games.

i believe that most games will be resheduled for next week. Obviously it needs to go through the league and maybe both teams agree but we got told to expect to play same ground next week.

Im not sure if that will do though as there is heavy rain expected next week again...

Why would you play a reserves game in these conditions knowing a pitch will rip up and the pitch will be deemed unplayable for the seniors? Surely the clubs have a duty to ensure the first teams have the best chance at playing and the best playing surface possible?

Exactly. Not having an official ref would be the most probable answer...

Monkey boy, do everyone a favor and kick the bejesus out of wanderers for us on the last day of the season...

I think the iggies ground should be chopped up completely and be replaced with artificial turf. The condition of their pitch was obviously the result of a few weeks hard yakka, but instead they were trying to sell us the story of others using their ground for the last 2 days! Ha ha.

Heres a tip. Find somewhere else to train and for your next home game, call ahead and postpone the game. Very dissapointing of them not to call us few days prior and tell us the absolute mess their pitch was in. That's the very least a club can do. Instead of stuffing around and trying to rearrange everything on the day.

ps thanks for the strips though!

Now that's an explanation that makes sense.
Hope the iggies players knew that you use the yellow lines :D

Flinders 1 Adelaide Villa 3 (a's) T Scalzi 2, D Musci 1
Flinders 0 Adelaide Villa 4 (b's)

Well done on the performance of both sides. As we continue our unbeaten run of 14 league games, we are definitely building momentum for Div 1 next year!
GO THE MIGHTY VILLA!!

PS- Thank you to Flinders for allowing us to play our home game on your pitch. Wouldnt want to even imagine the outcome if we played on our pitch.....postponed probably, no definitely.

The jets had a cracker game today.
With our first team goalie out with a stuffed foot, the res goalie stepped up(not that he had much work to do
with an out foxed wingerers side)
And I'm sorry I ran out of snags just when the roo wanted one
And you didn't even say hello to your old mate LANEY :(
So what happened to the wingerers winning the league without a loss.
A tip fellas GET A NEW LINESMAN THAT DOESN'T CHEAT

Yes he is Monkey Boy. And doing a fine job I must say. Taking the side from Div 3, hopefully straight to div 1 in consecutive years would be a great achievement. Yes, he has a fine squad to work with but a squad that also needs leadership. He is a good leader.

The African Allstars also went straight to division one in consecutive years although they're finding it tough staying there. Did get a win this weekend but Navarino hit the woodwork three times.

Thought it was a very close game but you guys were better inthe second half where it counted.....as for the second goal, i was the linesman and it was obviously a Flinders throw (the number 10 it came off even ran back to a defensive position after i flagged and also told one of your players who asked him that it did comeoff his foot), the ref was miles away and didn't even look at me, i tried to call him but.....pfft. I have no problem with him ignoring me but atleast tell me at the start of the fuckin game so i can go sit in the dry instead of in that fuckin mud
