Sunday Div 1 Round 14

Post by redsfan20 »

Lion V East
Pontians V Gardens
Vale V Beach
Florina V Westies
Farm V Downs

Some big games here people who is going to get the choccies???
Anyone want to say something controversial? Who will win the league and who will go down??
Should be some very tight contests now were at the business end of the season.
Good luck to all :) Except Florina of course

If we can beat lion then we're still in it. If pontian lose to pfg it'll be down to 3 teams i think (releg). I think the vale will be prems simply 'coz they score more than westies do. It's business, it's business time.. :)
....He's sick.
My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy she knows that he was going with this girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 flavours last night. Guess it's pretty serious

Wow, who would of predicted the div 1 ladder as it stands at the moment. The Stand out team would have to be Para Hills West. I'm sure afew players who left may well be regretting those actions. The Vale have lost afew players along the campaign but still seem to be able to get results. So well done to them. Ingle Farm seems to be off the boil a bit later, dropping points i'm sure they would of put down as wins earlier in the season. Anything to do with players playing for themselves to retain there spots in the team, or is it just bad luck. The Downs have seems to struggled this year when compared to their previous campaigns. Then there are the teams for relagation. Are West Beach and the East set to drop down or can they find some late season results to keep themselves in Div.1. Plenty to ponder over the upcoming weeks. Still many big games to go.

It will be an interesting ending. Closer then we all thought at the start of the season. Florina will be the team that destroys the hopes of the Farm and the West. The Farm have the hardest run of the top 3 and from there form they are dead and buried and will slip to 4th. Vale will win the league with a round to go, making the Vale v West game a dead rubber in the last round.

Pontians, East or West will drop, they all still have to play each other so there is still plenty of football to play for in the bottom 3. Could be just as exciting as the top 3 run in.

Having said that this is how I think the league will finish:

Vale
West
Florina
Farm
Downs
Gardens
Lion
Pontians
West
East

I totally agree with Yammy Boy, about the positions on the Div 1 table and the down fall of Farm & Westies.
Having played the Gardens and drawing our hopes are almost gone. Missed oportunities had cost us the game. Having total control in the first half and majority of play in the second (60-40) we just couldn't pull it off.
Any ways, this weeks games:
Lion vs east - Lion just lost to Vale and from my sources say had not bad game. I'm hoping easties win so as to keep the battle for relegation way open. sorry real one, but go easties. Had a good result last week no matter what went on, on or off the pitch, a point is a point and i would take them too. Good luck East Boy and at the East.
pontians vs Gardens Going on Pontians form i think gardens here in a close one, if not a draw. Pontians need this to starve off relegation and so do the gardens but i think the first division experience of the gardens will get them home. Cracker goal by Jarred against us and he's also climbed above me in the goal scoring charts GRRRRRRRRRR! :D
Vale vs Beach We are all hoping for the beach to take at least a point off them. Beach will fight to the end as they also need points to stay up. But me tells me self that vale will prevail & as everyone is saying or thinking, we will help Vale win the league.
Farm vs Downs Big fight on the farm hands here. Down on form and down on luck i think the farm have one more chance and i think they will win this one to keep in contention. I hope they lose or draw as that puts us closer to third, but farm at home and in desperation. Sorry Downs, i know big win on the weekend but Farm are a different prospect to Pontians.
Florina vs Westies Well, unbeaten in 13 games including the cup, haven't lost at home this year and in form i think this will be westies first lose for the year. I can't see them winning but i can feel maybe a draw, but we want to win and at least get third and the way we have been playing it is very possible. Still not out of the race for title (mathematically)
so we will still be guns blazing. Westies will come out firing as they need to win to stay in contention for title and will be a very close game.

I think West Beach can knock the Vale over in an upset.
Florina will end Para Hills Wests unbeaten run
Downs will pounce on Farm and take away the points
Pontians will upset Gardens
Lions will confirm Easts relegation potential
Not predictions so much as a wish list to keep things interesting.
Oh and Downs Reserves to topple Farm.....

Lion vs east
lions and east to draw and east to scrape another needed point
pontians vs Gardens
gardens will win 2 nil
Vale vs Beach
vale strong at home 3 nil
Farm vs Downs
probably high scoring game 4-3 to farm in a close one
Florina vs Westies
very tough game for westies draw at 2 apiece

This week we travel to Lion. Probably one of the hardest grounds to win at no matter where they are on the ladder. We'll be giving it our best again and hopefully we can come away with a win and keep the pressure above us on the ladder

As for the other games:
Pontians vs Gardens - I think this will be a close game. Pontian have class players in the middle but gardens are a hard running physical side. Hopefully Gardens come out on top to keep us in the hunt Pontian 1 - Gardens 2

Vale vs Beach - Beach shouldnt be underestimated but with a Vale side at the top end of the table and needing to keep on winning surely they can produce the goods. Vale 4 - Beach 0

Farm vs Downs - Ingle Farm are probably not playing as badly as their recent form would suggest and the downs will be doing anything to make ruin any chance farm still have of winning the league. Should be a good game Farm 2 - Downs 1

Florina vs Westies - My tip for match of the round and I think it will see Westies have their first loss. Everyone thinks its coming and credit to them for going this long undefeated but what goes up must come down. Florina still the best side we've played the second half of the year. Still will be a close game. Florina 2 - Westies 1

Tipping Westies cause they are the team that hasn't lost all season and have had a pretty good 18 months.

I hope Florina win cause it helps us with our title bid. I'm looking in front of us, not behind us.

I hope the weather is good tomorrow at Farm (better for the camera), I hope to be there for the big games.
The Reserves game should have an official referee me thinks ?
At least at Farm if it does rain the water will run down the hill.
