Easties vs florina ressies was a cracking game! Shame that lunatic striker from florina tried to ruin it when he decided he wanted to punch on with the ref!

Florina's a grade looking handy.. those lads at the back are monsters! Haha! Good old fashioned hard as nails stoppers! Love it!

2 big games for farm and westies this week. Winner through to final in both.

Bit of a worry with Pontian struggling to fill a b grade squad past 2 weeks. Any issues down there???

Good lad, fits into the farms system well. I watched him against gardens and some of the hold up play for the likes of Matty Cox and Toby Dodd were brilliant, will do well in that team.

With gardens losing some farmers adding the likes of Edwards I'm thinking it could bej close season for more then top 2 as it was last year. If simmo could get Luke air with Edwards, or has he?

Farm have always had one of, if not, the best strike force in the league, just conceded too many at the other end

With Pontian forfeiting against Florina in the b grade, Easties know what is required to progress to the mayors cup b grade final.

What is the reasoning behind Pontian forfeiting all games. Doesn't look good for the season proper.

This.

Have they lost any players this season? They've always been probably 2 players short of giving the comp a real shake.

Disagree with that a little. We have always had a good goal difference, our former goal keeper was the state team keeper and our sweeper one a player of the year away and came second twice. Three of our other defenders have won club B&F's during the last 6 years.

Our issue was that we would have a patch of 3-4 weeks where we couldn't get results when required. The year we shot ourselves in the foot, we picked up 4 points from the Downs but dropped 9 in 4 weeks against the 4 of the bottom 5 teams.

Trust me, I've looked into it a lot lol :(

A couple are training with fed clubs.

We've had 2-3 years when the team balance was perfect, just didn't capitalise on opportunities.

Also, no championships are won in February. I wouldn't take any preseason results into account when thinking about who will challenge for the title this year.

I watched Florina v Ponts I think it was 5 -1 , went for a piss so maybe 6-1 Flo's way
Loooking across the park .think easties got up over inter 3-1 . no offence taken if scores incorrect.

Inter with 2 send offs in the first 20-30 mins made it slightly one sided. Inter certainly tried to push it around, and did quite well out from the back at times, but there just wasnt enough outlets up front to give the defense a rest.
Inter got 2 pens to make it interesting, but possibly ran out of legs a little late in the second half where we managed 2 decent goals.
Good luck for the year inter and good luck with your injury shane.

Agree that Farm are ALWAYS there but their rough patch sees them not get any luck with snatching a draw or grinding out a result they should get. Certainly an example to alot of clubs about making the absolute maximum of the available resources. Write Farm off at your peril.

Pitch 1 (2pm kick off) Para Hills West vs Para Hills East - East vs West rivalry is always a big game but cant see a strong Westies team losing this one to Easties even after their win against an undermanned Inter last week.
Pitch 1 (4pm kick off) Ingle Farm vs Salisbury Florina - The main final should be a great contest against 2 undefeated teams a much improved Florina & scoring plenty vs a very good Farm team who I think will give the league a big shake this year as long as they start well. I think this game will go to penalties.

Minor Final - @ Parafield Gardens, Bradman Road Parafield Gardens
Pitch 2 (1pm kick off) Adelaide Pumas vs Salisbury Inter - Pumas have enjoyed the preseason cup even though they have battled hard Inter will turn their preseason fortunes around this week but Pumas new formation might just click to make it a little harder.
Pitch 2 (3pm kick off) Parafield vs Pontian - I wouldnt expect an upset here with a few exciting ins for Parafield this week should easily account for the wounded Eagles.

Reserves Final - @ Parafield Gardens, Bradman Road Parafield Gardens
Pitch 1 (12pm KO) Ingle Farm vs Salisbury Inter - Two very strong reserves teams should provide a good final & the class of Farm's Eggers to be the game changer to see Farm set themselves up for a cup double.
Theres been some great games played so far & a perfect day forcast for Sunday I'd expect a big crowd at Parafield to watch some exciting finals action rather than going to the Bogan 500 so hope to see you all there. Thanks again to all for being involved & the competition continues to be well supported & an important part of clubs preseason preperations.

Good luck to all for the season proper.

My sources tell me Eggers may not be taking to the pitch this week. I predict one of the farms young brigade to be the difference!
