Qantas Joeys defeat Hong Kong 1-0 in AFC U-16 Championships
The Qantas Joeys have defeated Hong Kong 1-0 in their AFC U-16 Championship qualifier match at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok tonight.
The only goal of the match came just after the half mark when a corner from Reece Papadimitrios found Qantas Joeys captain Ben Warland at the far post who volleyed home his shot from around the 12 yards out for his second goal of the tournament.
The Qantas Joeys dominated for the entire match, but some dogged defending by Hong Kong in very hot & humid conditions prevented the Australians from extending their lead.
The Qantas Joeys will next face Guam at the Debhatsadin Stadium on Monday 19 September (kick-off 6:00pm local, 9.00pm AEST).

I see South Australian Ben Warland captaining the Joeys and scoring goals. I Thought he was a central defender. Is he at AIS?
