When he threw a beer over the kid walking past, naturally some other people around got up to back him up, he is only a kid after all!!
same supporter group but 2 different people
the guy with the beer wasnt the same person that told the gardens supporter to go sit with his supporters
better you stay neutral !!
Does it make it better or worse that there were two of them acting this way Rat?
no it dosent make it any better.....sad to say pontian did arc up once donners came on and score to put gardens infront !!
and the guy that got kicked out was the boys father he just had a yellow jacket on not a pontian jacket

The show should be the game and nothing should take away FROM the two best Amatuer teams this year going head to head for 120minutes. Unfortunetly the game didnt go our way but thats life sometimes. People should be aware that its JUST a game. The little scuffle was dispersed off quickly and all parties went back to watching the game. Marshals and club representatives did their job well.

Funny isn't it loukaniko states The club official/president/chairman didn't abuse the referee. Yet Karmann Ghia states the Marshall has been banned from doing that job indefinatly and cannot make any contact with referees. Wonder why he got banned if he didn't abuse them?

Pretty much the same here Pontians Supporter threw a beer & grab 16yr old by the throat but it didn't happen.

Anyway the Gardens Karma Train took care of buisiness

What I thought was the funniest was the 60+ year old in the pontians jacket who thought he could jump in amongst it all only to be ejected by security. An elderly man jumping into an argument after one of his own through a beer at a 16 year old. All class!!!
from what I heard the older guy that went off and was kicked out was the father of the 16 year old that had beer thrown on him?
I thought you were there Neutral?

Thanks for clearing up a few things Rodent as a Parafield person it would of been easy to sink the boot in like a few others that again wernt there.

Good luck to both finalists

Got to see if happen, both clubs had people who could of acted better in the circumstance. Wouldn't have said either could take the moral high ground on this one. Disappointing as it was an entertaining second half and extra time.

He got smashed on here last week but well done to Terry, Pontian's President who helped defuse the situation when it looked like it was going to get ugly. Gweet also calmed things down.

Let's not forget about the Chairman's antics after our 2-2 draw, where he threw the team sheets in the refs face because he red carded three players. Obviously the wind in salisbury too blame for that...

Quick write up on the actual game between Pontian and Gardens. Apologies to Pontian as I don't know too many of the players names.

1st half was a bit of a stalemate although Gardens had the best of the chances. Both teams though seemed to be feeling each other out a bit and were getting use to Hindmarsh. When Gardens could get the ball wide, they opened up the middle of Pontian and Foster played very well. He missed a couple of chances you'd think he'd normally nail. Pontians keeper played exceptionally well and made the save of the day from an Aguis shot. (I think it was Freddy). Gardens had the better of the first half and should have scored although they never dominated. Ebomo was kept under wraps fairly well but Freddy was getting on the ball a fair bit.

A different second half as Pontian started to knock the ball more. They used the right hand side very well and created a lot of chances. The Pontian #9 had two chances he should have easily scored but fluffed. Pontian really had Gardens on the back foot and pressured Gardens into some turnovers. The goal was scored after Pontian again broke through on the right hand side in the 65 minute. From there though they started to go defensive and hold on for the win. From the kick off, Gardens nearly carried the ball right through and scored. They stepped up the pressure and Pontian were trying to absorb. Pontian used their 3 subs but had players looking tired and cramping. 80th minute, Steve Johnson was taken off for Brad Donovan and he was pushed forward to form a two man forward line rather than Brooksy playing forward with Foster and Freddy pushing forward. No one went to Brad and 15 seconds later, he was put through on his own, unmarked and slotted it to level it. You just knew Gardens were going to come at Pontian and they weren't able to hold on.

First half of extra time saw Pontian really run out of legs. Gardens pushed the ball around to keep Pontians moving. Brad dropped back into the left side of midfield and played in a well weighted cross/through ball to Foster which opened up the Pontian defence and Foster took the chance well. First 5 mins of the second half was similar with Brooks played through, drew the keeper and unselfishly squared the ball to Foster who had an open goal to shoot in. Pontian to their credit, didn't give up as Gardens relaxed a little and started to push forward again. A late free kick just outside the box was well taken and scored and Pontian had a couple of late chances to level but Gardens defence held firm giving them the 3-2 win.

The game was well refereed and it was played in good spirit. Man of the Match for me was Foat at the back. He cleaned up everything, plugged the hole in the left side when Gardens looked vunerable in the second half and it was his quick burst forward and through ball which created Gardens first goal.

From what I hear a few players are looking to move on also. Karmann your only comeback is the whole "good luck in div 2" line. Yet u haven't justified any of ur supporters actions or even put ur hand up and admit someone from ur club is at fault.

Back to football lol, great write up Jay. I thought the officiating through out the day was good except for a couple missed hand balls by keepers because of the confusing rugby lines. The pontians keeper had a cracker of a game and if they had won would have been contender for B.O.G. In the end Donovan proved to be a super sub and sparked some life into the gardens, who apart from agius looked a little off. Will be interesting to see how they line up against the vale.

Why should he need to justify anybody else's actions :?: :?:

End of the day it got soughted and some teams move onto next week :D

First game was good as a neutral, free flowing football at it's best. I disagree with Jay as i thought after about 15mins Pontians got on top of Parafield and should of went up into the break with a decent lead. Diddnt get to see any of the secound half but with the amount of cheers it sounded exciting.

On to our game, thought Beograd played the ball around really well and had a few chances to sneak one in, they just didnt have the composure for that finish. We got the job done but by no means played well, turned the ball over far to many times and will get punished next week if we do the same. Like #10 said, our supports were great and chanted all game...bloody legends :!: (although they were pissed off the bar shut before the game ended  )

All in all was a good day.

From where they have come from NUGGETT, finishing 3rd. in Sunday Premier Division is quite an accomplishment (particularly after nearly being relegated in 2010)....and yes...Pontians best season to date !

Not at all, but the kid started having words, on numerous occassions could have walked away, was pulled away by your supporters only to go back and further in flame the situation which is when he was grabbed by the collar. They Pontians bloke didn't have to throw the beer and should of walked away to but clearly no one wanted to back down, hense both clubs had groups of people who should of acted better. Also the security was terrible. WTF is the SAASL paying for if it takes that long to get someone there to eject or seperate people.

You should know by now Jay that Parafield is the no 1 area for well behaved people, especially teenagers. They are always politely mannered and respect their elders. Its only the rest of the world that is fucked.

If it's who I think it is he has a premier league title, which is more than what most of your squad could rub together.

Other than Brooksy of course, but who knows where he will be next year.
