Given what just happened, Nugget you apparently think Kenyon should have come out and said "SAASL are doing a great job of using the tax payers money they've been given to help migrant / refugee groups integrate." I can see why you're not a politician.
Are you FK'N serious otto62?

What I would Expect OUR Minister For Sport to say is something like....
You can't blame or Judge the SAASL or the other 90 Clubs for this incident they do a Fantastic job for our Community & have done successfully for 47yrs this is a isolated incident & I am sure they with the help from my Department will handle this situation quickly & appropriately.
Just the other day I was ask to one of the many Charity Days Organised & Run by one of these 90 Clubs.
Something to that affect, not what he did! He basically spoke about the funding of our sport & he will look into if that funding is appropriate ???

But this isn't isolated - 2nd time this year. And what u've written is implied anyway Nuggett - its always the minority ruining it for the majority.

People were assaulted and not for the first time. You cannot expect the Minister to come out and say - "well hey, it was ugly but the SAASL are doing are great job"

Of course he is going to question it - especially when money from our pockets are contributing to this (sate or federal taxes).

Wake up Nuggett!

More than 3500 Games a season, 47yrs old & only a handfull of serious incidents, I'd say that it is isolated it certainly isn't a regular thing...

And accually I do expect more from the South Australian Minister for Sport than to leave Our 90 Clubs 4500 Players & Our Association out to dry...

There are fights every week in the SAASL just like every other sports association in the state - two major incidents like these in one season, the scrutiny is certainly justified.

Your missing the point ontheblackburner I agree the scrutiny is justified, just not the Ministers comments or lack of them in the Advertiser.
We are a Major Sporting Organisation in this State & a very Good one & have been for 47 yrs.
Our Association as do & I'm sure many others feel that the Minister for Sport in this State has let us down & hang us ALL out to dry...

I stated earlier that i know the Minister but the point is Nuggett can't say it is his fault when the SAASL has been gutless for far too long when it comes to these issues.

Don't get me wrong, the SAASL does well but for far too long they've turned their heads on issues like these.

I understand what you're saying perfectly but I disagree with your stance.

Who has let us down more - The Minister for Sport and Rec or the SAASL who hasn't had the balls to clean this behaviour up?

last 3 incidents the clubs have been kicked out

really turning their head and looking the other way

they are between a rock and a hard place when ethnic based sides re-apply because they can bring up the whole racist issue if the are rejected from playing

Supporter pulls out a replica gun during an all in a few years ago and the club is only given a two week ban...

Rather soft no?

Did it have to be real and a shot fired for it to be more severe?

Nuggett, you are assuming that the Minister didnt make these comments as they have not been reported.

Further to this if he hasnt made such comments then all the positive influences you hve highlighted will come to his attention when he delves further.

Its your wierd perception fo reality which is the problem here.

Also noone is saying that the Amateur League has not provided this State with a great service over the last 47 years but these incidents need to be stamped out and that is soemthing I think everyone agrees on.

Too late the damage to our Clubs & Association has been done FRONT PAGE of the ADVERTISER, come to his Attention? Isnt he the Minister for Sport?

Its your wierd perception fo reality which is the problem here.
It's funny how most people I speak who are involved in our Sport agree with my views including the SAASL as stated in there press release,
I'm thinking your the one with wierd perception.

Also noone is saying that the Amateur League has not provided this State with a great service over the last 47 years but these incidents need to be stamped out and that is soemthing I think everyone agrees on.
Are you stupid or something the SAASL & it's Clubs "US" has been absolutley smashed in the paper. Do you think the SAASL dont think these incidents need to be stamped out...
