That's the beauty of predictions Pete, especially when you do them before a preseason game has been played and base them on previous year's results!

FWIW plenty of people tipped us to be relegated from Div 1 this year

Monarchs were one point away from promotion in Div 3 in 2010. Pumas ended up losing players from 2010 which hurt them. RBE obviously picked up some quality. ACU/Gleeson/Flinders were always going to be around the mark.

Didn't expect FCA to drop so far (they are relegated now) but didn't know how many players they had lost.

Also thought Adelaide Uni's fourth side would struggle in a first team comp with such high quality teams, half of whom have been in Saturday or Sunday Div 2 within the previous 3 years. Our C Grade prediction was hope more than anything, always knew they would struggle this year. Murray Bridge was basing on 2010 form but obviously they picked up players too.

We were in good shape for promotion a month ago but losses to Gleeson and Monarchs (both of which we drew with first game this year) virtually buried us.

P3 I reckon is the best we can hope for but P4 is still not bad given the players we lost in the off-season.....

And with Murray Bridge making the LONG trip to Gleeson this week, anything other than a win for the B's will earn them the wooden spoon which our B's will be glad to hand over

Uni were 3-0 up after 10 minutes but Eagles went 4-3 up at half-time. A late penalty brought the teams level.

Mathematically yes, realistically no, we would need iggies to beat monarchs. say they beat them by 1 goal.
I think we then need to beat uni by 5 goals.

The loss on the weekend killed us. At least we will be making monarchs fight right to the end!

Agreed acu_falcon - the ref spoilt the match completely. Worst reffing display I have seen this season. hard not to get upset on the sidelines when a ref makes the game all about them. Both teams were completely screwed over by inconsistent calls, personal prejudice and a complete unwillingness to let the game flow.

For gleeson to go up, there has to be a 7 goal turn around. We only need one point to go up (Monarchs) but we are still going out there with the right mentality. Hopefully we get the result we need to go up
