It's a direct quote relating to the corruption in italian football. Don't shoot the messenger.

Yesterday's news Hawskey... In any case, I am happy for Auerlio to change his citizenship. In fact I am happy for the whole Napoli region to become apart of another country (maybe Greece or something).

If you actually read (doubt you can) the article, it's relating to the fixtures and some issues he had surrounding that.

Go back and read the article again before you make yourself look like a prat, even though you are apparently pretty good at it already.

Unfortunately, the last remnant of the Roman Empire ended in 1453.

How was that tiny little thing the greatest empire? Even the macedonians managed a greater one.

Yeah I know, it's just so insignificant...if only its legacy was something like the birth of modern Europe - oh wait, it is.

Anybody can colonise two-bit lands like Papua New Guinea and Uganda, but places like Greece and North Africa (back then quite fertile and rich lands) had some meaning :P

Misguided arrogance.... on an internet forum... FUUUUUAAARRKKKKK, you're that good?!

Greatest empire? yeh those wars you fought against the Indians, the Aborigines etc were epic!

Your best clothes are probably designed by an Italian. Your favourite food is probably pizza and the car you wish you could afford, is Italian.

I don't like fish and chips, and I hate Mini's.

But meh... how many times does this debate start up on footballnews? LOL.

If England is so great... and Rome owned it for 100's of years... well then, Rome must of been pretty good.

When did England own Italy, or any mainland European country?*

*LOL jks, never happened.

In b4 Hawksey talks about wars he never fought in, although he makes it sound like he won them himself.

my best clothes are English - Paul Smith and Ted Baker (but I do own an Armani suit), what has american food got to do with this unless you're claiming they have the greatest empire, and the car I would buy if money was not an object. One of them is English, the other german. My motorbike is italian though.

He is probably referring to a Jaguar, which are probably some of the most poorly made "luxury cars" you can buy. I hope for Hawksey's sake, he means an Aston Martin.

And when did America invent the Pizza?!

LOL @ Ted Baker and Paul Smith. Rigid old man clothing...

Armani suits are actually a shitload better than D&G though. D&G in general is pretty garb.

Awesome World Football topic in any case.

Don't forget to add, the USA (1812-1814), Russia in the Crimea, Napoleonic France, Nazi Germany. They were epic.

Oh and we gave you a tap on the wrist a few times in WW2.

on the quote from the original post, it was at the serie A draw and he stormed out after the 2 or 3 round draw, went outside and flagged down a kid on a scooter and hitched a ride. There's a video of it on the net if ya look.
