Re: U16s catch up game
West adelaide started off the better of the two but had 6 of there 19s playing and went up 1-0 with about 10 to go ine the first half. Comets started a lil intimidated. Second half comets came out with alot of intensuty and started creating chances and the game became more even . The comets side scored two quick goals with pressire puhe t on the keeper he let one slip out of his hands and the other as he was going to puck up the ball striker from comets slipped the ball through his legs and scored. West adelaide pushed for the rqualiser bit comets defended well winning 2-1.

Yes, the ones where winning is rarely mentioned by the Coachgerr8rd wrote:does any team actually play with just the boys who were selected at the start of the year?
Re: U16s catch up game
Comets are the worst offenders for it dropping kids down, they drop ressies and 19's down to their 16/17's and winge when other clubs do it. The fact is all clubs are entitled to do it where they see fit.
I heard comets on the weekend dropped 16 & 17yr olds down to the 17A's game against Croydon. No one from Croydon complained, they loved it as their kids were challenged. Croydon promoted 4 kids from their 17C's, a 13yr old, a 15yr old and played with one of their defenders in goals. Score ended up 3-3.
Then straight after that game, their was an U16's game on (comets v Croydon again). 10 players from the 17's Comets sat on the bench for the 16's game, they had 3xno.10's on the park, 2xno.7's, 2xno.4's, 3xno8's and so on. Ref lost track of subs??
Their was some U15's they pushed up also therefore you had the same numbers on the shirts??
Not one of the croydon U17A's were asked to stay behind,as the 16's coach had 3 on the bench. He wanted the kids to have a fair run,

Re: U16s catch up game
that's where the win at all costs mentality comes into it. clubs obviously feel that the team they are putting out is incapable of getting a positive result without a few reinforcements from the higher age groups (all age eligible players of course)G-Star wrote:The fact is all clubs are entitled to do it where they see fit.
proud to say that our team is sitting where we are on the table with the boys that were picked at the start of the year, and only time players were required through injuries, they were recruited from the age group below.
Re: U16s catch up game
For your knowledge buddy not one player was dropped from the 19s into the 17s team, and if im correct ur goaly is from ur 19s team. And for the 16s there was 5 players who sat on the bench as the 16s had 9 available to play and one u15 who played full game and the only time a u 17 came on was either for an injury or a player being tired so therefor your facts are false. And the overal outcome is ur upset that your team didnt win and ur pulling at straws with all these alligations.
Re: U16s catch up game
The 17's keepers were both promoted to the 19's. A keeper could not attend and gave last minute notice on the Saturday after 19's game, so a 16 year old field player for the 19's put up his hand the night before.cavlotic wrote:...and if im correct ur goaly is from ur 19s team ....

Re: U16s catch up game
comets have been stacking all year and i know 1 lad left because he was playing all over the shop fact. but again your not the only ones
Re: U16s catch up game
i agree with Leo, a number of players have told me that some players were told that they must go down to help out the juniors because the club wants to have a winning mentality, unfortunately 90% of clubs do the same thing....
there's nothing we can do about it, lets all just move on!!

Re: U16s catch up game
Did you know that you can still have a winning mentality even if you lose every game?
You can also have a losers mentality even if you win every game........

Re: U16s catch up game
Hey BUDDY, get your facts correct, Croydon - Not even my club(have a relation there). Would'nt care what the result is/was. I must have hit a nerve as you no idea what your talking about when you could see that lad wasn't even a keeper????????? No idea about the game if you can't notice that??cavlotic wrote:For your knowledge buddy not one player was dropped from the 19s into the 17s team, and if im correct ur goaly is from ur 19s team. Your club have been and still are the biggest BACKSTABBERS in the federation. Your history what you've done in amateurs to gain status? and then BACKSTAB West Adelaide to gain B27 behind their back?? once in the federation(to gain juniors)
still same people involved at Comets and the new club members are exactly the same.
Re: U16s catch up game
Your going a bit overboard there buddy talking about the club like that. Fairenough I understand that maybe your upset the club did something to you. But theres no reason to speak like that. A bit of harmless bantering is all good and well but to call comets the biggest backstabers in a junior soccer forum to me is a lil over kill. If you, really cant sleep at night cause your Heart is broken see somebody about it but dont get personal over nothing G star.

Nothing personal, not taken personally, only speaking the TRUTH.

Re: U16s catch up game
when are junior clubs going to realize stacking teams with different players from other age groups just to get a win is a loosers mentality.
clubs and coaches who do this are just stroking their own egos.
no one cares how many junior titles you win !
how about trying to develop players, regardless of the results, to one day play for your seniors rather than having stupid parents, coaches and clubs back slapping each other after another great win??
be more concerned about developing good ball playing players!
unless a team is short due to injury or illness ok...2-3 players on the bench, but to win a game?
the only way to fix that is to vote with your feet and leave those clubs stuck in 1973, plenty of clubs out there doing the rignt thing.
i guess thats why those sorts of clubs always have a huge turn over of players each year, have a committee lacking balls and vision, coaches with no idea, and why those clubs are constantly stuck in the lower divisions.
go figure........

Re: U16s catch up game
...........yeah and make sure you play like ballerinas too!
Come on - providing it is all agreed and cool with the kids and parents who wouldn't deprive the kids of the chance of some success. Every top level manager will tell you that the clib is more important than the individual and it certainly is to the supporter or the person who willpotentially, if they make it, pay these players wages.
Wiseoldman you raise some idealistic points but this is the real worls with death, taxes, winners and losers and wrapping kids up in cotton wool trying to protect them from the harsh realities of life does not produce the character of people this nation was built and WILL NOT produce a world class football team.
Maybe I have overdone it with the analogies but I think you all know what I am getting at.

Re: U16s catch up game
wow...completly missed the point?
coaches bringing players down a level even though they are eligable for eg. under 15,s but have been pushed up to under 16,s and use them simply to win a game while other players picked to play u15,s are sitting on the bench shows the lack of confidence a coach has in himself and his team and his coaching ability.again a fine example of coaches?..... building up their resumes with meaningless wins.
i gather from your rant you disagree but it hard to work out what you mean?........ hope the above explaination is a bit simpler for you.
