If true, question is should they take out their frustration on all the other teams in those divisions by smashing them ? What good will that do them, for their development, what benefit will it be to the other clubs who are very much social leagues with a lot of beginners,if the div 4 game I saw last Sunday,at underdown park is anything to go by.
Seriously, what is going on ?
I understand that FFSA is trying to stop breakaway clubs happening, but who are they really punishing, the breakaway club, or the other teams in those divisions ?
how is PH United a break away club? They've had junior girls teams in the FFSA leagues before, and still do, calling themselves Para Hills Juniors, so really they're a growing club.
And in that case, it's insane that they've had to play div 4 and 5, they are far more advanced than any teams that are playing in those leagues, which, like you've said, are basically beginners leagues. Some of these girls have been playing for most of their lives and some even have prems experience. Rumors I've heard is that FFSA held them back to appease another club, and that their results would be watched closely.
I can tell you that they are a breakaway club, apparently used to be known as the P H Knights, apparently, due to an internal dispute ,decided to move where the " grass is greener" on the other side of the fence, literally. They changed their name, "changed grounds" so they are classed as new club, and rules state for all new clubs to start from the bottom divisions, from what I am told. maybe the FFSA /SAWSA have that rule to try try and encourage clubs to work harder to try and reconcile and work harder to sort out their differences, rather then take the easier option of relocating as another club.
I was at the game today, got to say that the attitude of the PH Utd coach was deplorable,to the point where I felt sorry for him,I think he needs some kind of counselling. Kept walking all the way up +down the touchline, yelling and screaming at his players for the whole 90 minutes - I think even some of the parents of his players were a bit embarassed.
He was very vocal as his team hadnt scored in the first nine minutes. When they were 4-0 up after about 25 minutes, the oppositon team's striker scored a goal after dribbling 3 of their players,he was furious.
When the game ended score 15-1, i thought there was nothing at all that indicated to me "it was in the best interest of the game" there was nothing moral or ethical, in my opinion ( unless I missed something ) some of the parents of the winning team appeared bored and embarassed, allegedly spoke about taking their daughter to another club in a higher grade. As for the losing team, they came off happy, laughing, gave it their all-when they scored it was like they won the cup final, they should all be proud of themselves.
If the P H utd/knights/jnrs continue with this mentality,i can see a lot of forfeits coming up,particularly as div 4+5 was suppose to be social league (haha LMFAO ) talking to the opposition, they started getting changed 10 minutes before kickoff,no warm up no pre game kickaround, and held the oppositon for a while before the predicted "tsunami" hit them.
