Socceroos will need to lift their game to get past Uzbeks who have improved
Djeporov will pose a constant threat against a weary Aussie midfield

obviously i hope we can win. i think we will need to continue and improve on current form to win it. if we play at the level we did against iraq it will not be easy.

korea are the best team in the tournament and we matched them, i think we should dispose of the uzbeks 2-0

Bugger. It is a 2.30am job Wednesday. I was hoping it was the 11.30pm Tues night game, the night before OZ's public holiday....

Uzbekistan might be awkward. They still look like they've got that old Soviet Union style, and we wouldn't want to let them get into their passing routine..Not quite European, not quite Asian. Mates of Borat next door in Kazakistan.

Would be good to roll Uzbek in this semi. And what a pity Iran didn't get past S.Korea. That would have been some Iran re-match with OZ that even the mainstream media would have sat up and noticed.

ps, older forumites correct me if I'm wrong. Are Kewell and Schwarzer the only survivors from that '97 disaster v. Iran?

Schwarzer may have been in squad but Bosnich played that day.

While that idea has some merit, it would just be much easier if you crawled back under the rock you originally came from, and died.

I think Uzebeks will be really tough test but we have the momentum to win this tournament.

We played really well against the Koreans and could have easily got up 3-1 if Harry Kewell shot a little bit better.

Cahill is still under an injury cloud and hopefully he will be better. With these knocks generally they improve over time, so hopefully he should be good to go by now.

Can't wait for this match. I hope we face Korea in the final, as I bet money on them pre-tournament. So if we both make it (Aus/Kor) I will be happy with either result! :)

7:25pm kickoff in Doha, so the late kickoff. We're playing in Al Khalifa (50,000 seater). I have a feeling me and my mate will be two of about 10,000 people there and it will look ridiculous on tv!

i havent seen India but if we are to believe the reports then they should be able to beat them.

Korea, i just cannot see it, so it will come down to match vs Bahrain. a draw may be enough to get through depending on other results.

Aussie football doesnt look particularly strong right now and Osieck doesnt seem to have improved anything.
