MOst likely people were putting in dummy bids, and they were retracted to reflect an accurate bid.

When something looks too good to be true, it generally is.

Much rather 380k legit bidding than the other rubbish.

Not taking anything away from Cahill who appears to have gone to the trouble of organising it, but the Andrew Bogut package is paid for by Bogut personally, whereas the Cahill package seems to be donated by the airline, hotel, etc. Probably also reflects Bogut's wages though.

Either way, fantastic effort from both lads.

Down again... almost worth it now!!

$28k

Reason for the reductions...

Q: Hi, I am confused. I assume there has been some fraudulent bids on this item, as the price has dropped dramatically, but every time I check it it has dropped even further. Is this current bid of $25 600 legitimate or will the price go lower? Thanks. 20-Jan-11
A: We have been systematically contacting every bidder to ensure that there were only genuine bidders in this auction. Unfortunately some did not understand the terms and conditions of bidding in an auction. Those bids have now been cancelled or retracted. That is why there was so much fluctuation over the past day We are now confident that there are only genuine bidders in this charity auction. This auction is now only open to registered bidders. Bidders will have to provide their phone contact details so that we can contact them and confirm their understanding of the terms of the auction before placing a bid. Thanks again for your support and helping Tim Cahill to make a great donation to the Queensland communities affected by the devastating floods.
