but like somebody said, hw many tmes have they won this season when the other team has been down to 10 men

wenger always complains about protection for HIS players, i think its playing on the refs mind
maybe he should look in his own backyard with wilshires tackles last weekn
Wenger said Wilshere deserved red, what's the problem?

teams that play short style of passing and retain possession will always have more fouls, yellow cards and red cards against than teams that don't (as much).

its just the inconsistency of it though, the ref gave a foul for tevez being brought down the week before and there was no red. fabergas could have been given a second yellow as of course neville in their game.

so it was the Clattenburg's fault the idiot last week made the wrong decision? (Not even sure if it was the wrong decision, didn't see it... got a video)
lol, how on earth could Fabregas have been booked twice?

I can't disagree that there's a great deal of inconsistency between referees, but I thought Clattenburg was consistent within the context of the game he was in charge of. It's a wind up when refs give a foul in the centre circle but the same offence in the box doesn't warrant a penalty, or they'd give a foul in the 60th minute but the same offence in the first minute gets nothing.

I should add that I intensely dislike Arsenal and am not fond of Man City so I'm pretty neutral on this particular game.

Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger Challenges 'Outstanding' Jay Emmanuel-Thomas To Claim First Team Spot
Frenchman also does not want to release Henri Lansbury

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has challenged the "outstanding" Jay Emmanuel-Thomas to improve his fitness and vowed to keep fellow starlet Henri Lansbury at the Emirates Stadium.

The young duo can expect to be in the line up that faces Newcastle United in the League Cup on Wednesday night. Both are knocking on Wenger's door to claim a regular first team spot and have been urged to used the fixture as a springboard to success.

"Jay is knocking very hard on my door - with two hands. He has outstanding quality," the Frenchman told the club's official website.

"He works very hard to get his fitness right. When his fitness is right, Jay will be not only a good player, but a great player.

"One thing is for sure - he can score goals. That is a massive talent you cannot give to people, his right foot, left foot, he is unbelievable in front of goal.

"This guy is an unbelievable finisher, inside and outside of the box. He has outstanding qualities, he has the build you dream to have.

"It is down to how far he wants to go because he has big potential."

Wenger added on Lansbury: "I like Henri very much, because of his quality, because of his attitude, his desire and determination.

"He is a Ray Parlour type, a guy who has a good team attitude, goes for the challenges, has an endless engine and has the timing to get into the box and finish, he has shown that at Spurs.

"He is one of the players I want to keep at the club."

Mickey mouse cup this morning, entertaining, but....
Newcastle fielded a weak side gearing up for their derby clash with Sunderland on the w.end. Arsenal played with a weaker sideas they do in this comp, but still, due to injuries in the past, these names have now played a bit of first team footy and are semi-regulars.
Theo back, Bendtner Cesc and co all seemingly back to full fitness :D
Now for van Pansie to get fit and we may nearly be at full strength..

Worthy winners, but how fucking awful was the referee? Bendtner blatantly body checks Williamson but the ref does nothing. The goal that effectively killed the game was a joke.

You have to see this one. Who knows what the officials were thinking. If indeed they were.

to me it looked like he definatly was trying get in the path of williamson to force him to around not to bump, willimason tries to push/throw bendtner out the way and instead turns into a collision. still definatly lucky to get away with it for bendtner

What is it with the Goons and goalkeepers. Arsene might have an eye for a player but his keeping choices are woeful.

Good to see Flapianski mucking it up again. Howay the Lads!!

More the defence...........you could see what was in Carroll's mind before Barton had even taken the free kick.

Wow, what a game this morning.
Wolves kept the pressure on and almost scavenged a point. Chamakh with both, 1st min and 90th min.
Flaphandski kept us in the game tonight. Milnas was brilliant for wolves also. Wolves should be fine this year with a showing like that.
Maybe, just maybe we can start to connect the wins... 8)

Not the prettiest display last night, but, 3 points heading back to nth London.
Thought Djourou was brilliant, so too Clichy.
What is it with Cesc atm. All you see is him pissin in the refs ear, forcing free kicksetc. Far too classy a player to be demanding the refs like he did v Everton, and the rest of the teams he has played this season.
Second and stability coming back. Im starting to believe that Arsene's "kids" may have finally got what it takes.. :D

How the fuck did Squillaci stay on the pitch? Has Howard Webb read the LOTG? Amazing that the 'Sky 4' teams get the best of the decisions time and time again.

Whoops!

I'm sure you'll still qualify, but 2 losses in 4 days, what's going on? Wenger will beating the crap out of his water bottle again.

I for one am not embarrassed and will say that on saturday Arsenal were simply outplayed, outclassed, however you want to put it, in the second half. Tottenham were on fire and to my disgust to say, they deserved the win.
I'll say it, as I've said many times before. When will Arsenal learn to kill a side off? Tottenham should have gone to the dugouts buried...
