FORMER Adelaide United coach Aurelio Vidmar got off to a bad start in his new job.
Vidmar's Olyroos were defeated 0-1 by DPR Korea in the opening match of the Four Nations International Tournament in Vietnam overnight.
Park Song Chol scored in the 16th minute from a free kick.
Vidmar said he was content with the performance.
“I thought it was a very good performance for our first game together,” said Vidmar.
“The players executed the game plan very well after only being together for a short period.
“The disappointing part is that we had a lot of chances and we should have scored goals from these opportunities.
“But overall it was a pleasing performance with a lot of positives that we will take into our next match.
The Olyroos face Kuwait tomorrow night before facing hosts Vietnam on Friday.

Re: Viddie's Olyroos go down
Yeah, that loss was entirely Vidmar's fault. Not a thing the Olyroos could have done with all the chances they had to score and win the game and it's all Vidmar's fault that they lost to a spot kick. Great analysis, everyone.

Don't like being on the bench? Don't make yourself available for the squad, then. It's not tiddlywinks, everyone-gets-a-game...topgun-jimmy-aufcs wrote:i think the worst to go on these tripps when picked, is not get a game, wat a fkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkking joke.....

Was a free kick actually - looked like a dive. Whilst Australia had some good patches, rarely looked like scoring (apart from Coynes free kick which hit the bar) North Korea ripped us apart at times and were lucky they didn't score more our defence weren't quick enough and got caught by Korea on the break several times
For a coach to say how well we played when we lose 1-0 to North Korea is a joke
Sack Vidmar
How's that for analysis?
