Very tricky. If someone tells me someone has defamed me, but won't tell me the name of the defamer, can I turn around and tell that person it is he who is making it up and is then the defamer?

pretty sure for a remark to become defamatory in that respect all that is required is for a 3rd party to be involved.

i.e. it doesn't matter if RS defames Harry directly in the media, or RS talks about someone in the media and quotes remarks which they allegedly said - either way if it isn't true, it is defamatory. obviously if RS just said it to Harry, and not in the media, it would not be defamatory as no 3rd party is involved.

Liked Slater as a player, thought he was quite skilful. Also like Chipperfield as a player. Very underated for the Socceroos. Had a great WC in Germany. Got no problem with either.

All 3 players are heroes for the Socceroos. Shame this incident has happened.
