Score was 5-4 at 90 minutes (+ injury time which is nice to see in the B's game for cups)

Downs had a few shots cleared off the line and won many corners but Iggies were precise on the counters and used the clean wings well with the middle of the pitch bogged in mud. They also looked better in the 18 yard box scrambles, and picked up a couple of goals when downs failed to clear (downs got 1 this way too)

downs equalised 2 times but couldn't get ahead

1-0 Ig, 1-1, 3-1 Iggies HT

3-3, 5-3 iggies, downs pulled one back with 2 minutes to goal had a free kick in the dying minutes which was saved.

Would have been an exciting match for the neutral.

Winner came from a long throw

I also heard Florina won 3-2 in extra time vs Adelaide Uni reserves

didnt see much of our reserves, heard some of the goals (2 30 yarders from downs!) were great tho

first team good win. up 1-0 early from a set piece header, 1-1 from a goalkeeping mistake. 2-1 (another header, same player too off almost identical place for the cross). 3-1 from a flukey cross that ended up in the top corner, 4-1 at the half

5-1 early in the second. one of our guys held the ball for about a minute, turning in circles, before unleashing a bullet. 5-2 after a good shot edge of the box from villa.

all in all i good win for us today. definatley a deserved win, and looking forward to the quarters.

Yes Swanny the pitch was a shocker, but both teams played on the same pitch.

yeah our pitch is a joke, we're looking at playing some games in the school hopefully. next week off though hopefully it can recover a bit.

having said that both teams play on the same pitch. without being cocky we wouldve put more past them on a good surface as our passing and movement was alot better.

First goals in both halves were within two minutes of the kick off. Third goal definitely a cross. My first thought was "f***ing hell" which Nuffsed on the sidelines said exactly the same thing.

Salisbury Villa questioned the linesman on why you didn't play on the C/D team pitch. Strangely enough in weather like this Cowandilla stands up quite well. United Allstars may have been better off keeping their home tie.

Florina Bs 3 - Adelaide Uni 1B 2 (aet)

Cracking free kick settled it in first half extra time.

Would they really want to play on that postage stamp of a pitch?

I wasn't and I did. I merely pointed out why using the C/D pitch wouldn't have been feasilble.

No, Florina were away for A's & B's, I just think it was posted with Florina at home as the post were commenting on both Florinas games.

Good result by A's & B's, could be a league/cup double for the A's. Good luck for the remainder of the cup rounds.

Ugh our pitch was awful yesterday. Worst it's been for over 2 years. It was rolled twice and cut during the week, the rain came at the wrong time of the week :?
