Good hard game and lots of resolve shown by Knights despite last weeks exodus !
Paul Thompson coming from the bench at half time added to his 7 goals in Reserve games with both goals for the Southern Knights A's today.
League leaders Para Hills East went a goal ahead in the first minute after a messy goalmouth scramble from a corner.
Knights leveled the score in the second half when Paul Thompson headed over Easts advancing goalkeeper.
Somewhat against the run of play Para Hills East regained the lead when Chris Miller broke through and hammered the ball home from 15 metres.
Knight equalised in a similar fashion to their first goal when East looking for an offside were caught out and Paul Thompson headed the ball over the advancing keeper.
Good display of refereeing today (hardly noticed he was out there) and an honest home linesman

Already a goal down after about one minute...Knights push forward to try and erase the deficit.
Para Hills East had several good build ups but failed to stretch their lead...whilst Scott Bradley seemed to be surrounded by East..
David Mooney looked to have stepped up a notch for the encounter with East.

Para Hills East opened the second half with a bit more momentum but couldn't quite find the target.

After a tough week in football, Knights have some cause for celebrations.
Matt Doughtry ran all day and closed East down well.....supported by a strong effort from Lyndon Parry.
East celebrate regaining their lead through Chris Miller !
East's celebrations are short lived as Paul Thompson notches his second goal in similar fashion to his first !
Both teams strove for the winner rather than settle for a hard earned draw.
Knights keep up the pressure to find the winning opportunity.
The end of an exciting game...a draw seemed fitting for both teams (but a Knights win would have fitted in nicely).
All in for beers after a hard couple of games at altitude !

Player shortage at Knights filtering down to the Reserves...
East scored, then East scored, then East scored, then East scored and then East scored to make it 5-0 by half time. That's when I entered the fray...
After the break East scored, then East scored, then East scored and eventually East scored again !
Hope the East lad that went down with a deep gash to his knee in the second half is OK ! Get well soon.
(not sure if my boots were the culprit (screw ins) but the ancient Predators went in the bin just in case)
