Don't quote me on this, but I think it's their actual age at the time of the tournament. Pretty sure we had a player being considered for the U15 squad last year who missed out because his 16th birthday was the week before they were to play in Canberra.

I've found it on the "Nationals" website, it's the age you turned before 31 Dec 10, so the age group you are eligible for in 2010

5.           Age Requirements
A participant’s age is determined by their age as at 31 December. Players may not be any older than the age category in which they are participating although players are permitted to be no more than two years younger.
Where the Championships are held in January of each year, age eligibility is determined by the previous year. For example, a player turns 16 on 10 February. He is eligible for the under 15 competition or an older age category but not a younger age category.

I think that you will find the fee is for court hire, both for the trials & training. Unfortunately FFSA do not fund Futsal SA players or officials.

Any additional money will probably be used to subsidise the fees for nationals.

I guess that it helps attract the players that serious about going to Canberra, previously players have been selected & then withdrawn.

From what I have heard Victoria charge their players around $15 each for the trials for the reasons above.

It's good to see Futsal SA getting this organised about nationals.

Yes agreed.
It is a group of dedicated people who give up a significant amount of their time for free every year to get SA across the border.

What is the age for the youth squad? Is it under 21 at the start of the year?

Youth is U/19, always has been.

The average age of the men's team last nationals was only about 21 though. That was the reason for the U/23 competition last year.

not really scalz, fusco and fowler pushed up our average lol.

hopefully we get a good coach and a good team this year to push for the title. it is not as easy as everyone thinks. I don't think everyone realizes that the two NSW teams are made up of most of the current Futsalroos squad.

My son was involved in last years Championships and loved it; first thing he said when he got back "dad, I'm going next year". We'll see.
It gets harder at this age; too many things on (school, club, life) and both my kids are starting to get other offers for these type of interstate squads (Interstate Club tournament, SAPSASA, State). They all cost $$, how do you pick which is best value in football terms?

No idea mate haven't heard anything, prob wait till the outdoor season is finished before they do anything. Just hope they can get some quality futsal players not just name players from the super league. And not slow players

They will most probably pick the younger players for the open men's team from the campbelltowon comp starting in spetember and the rest from the super league.

If you are good enough you will be asked to trial, simple as that.

No point in trying to find out now as they don't know what sort of players will come out.

Yeah that's fine, I've already seen that. You will get trial dates after the outdoor season finishes, relax they will notify you if you want to go over so bad. I'm sure you know who to talk to in regards to trial dates and other details.
