Well at least you have posted it in the right place, but I doubt you have raised the subject for any of the right reasons. If you read through the hundreds of topics in this section previously you will find many rational discussions about the way the game is structured here in SA, and the fact that the different competitions serve a purpose and as a result of this they are all important and necessary.

Us versus them is not an issue.

Clearly you do not know what you are talking about mate...How can you say E&D is better than the federation, you dont even need to trial to get into these teams. And i bet the federation players are coming to E&D because they didnt make the squad or dont want to take their soccer so seriously anymore.

E & D is a good stepping stone to federation teams. I found it a quality league untill I was 13.

Yeh i agree PM. It was a great comp for me until i was 12. I had the oppurtunity of great coaches such as joe mullen who taught me all the basics and made me into a great young player. I was one of the lucky ones, but there is teams out there who fathers are just coaching and dnt have a clue, damgaing the kids development.

MACKIE,

I don't think you can compare E&D to Federation they are both different

I think E&D is a fantastic place to start and enjoy the game without the hassel of having to trial for a spot in a team.

Then if you want more out of your game move to Federation.

I don't think there is a right or wrong or which one is better they both have good and bad points.

hey its just my oppinion :)

E&D great starting place.... if u have the potential at the age of 10-11 then i think it is time to move onto federation before it is too late....
:D my opinion anyway

As I have said many times before there is more than one road to success, whatever works for the individual child is what is important.

HEY POVMAN, :?

Just curious what are some of the roads to success for young budding soccer players to follow to help them get to the top.
