Re: Juniors cheating to win
no players, who were fit and ready to play, were left out of the side. Three players were brought in, one from the Ad City U15 B team to fill a team, no cheating was involved.i bet you feel great but the poor players dropped for older players coming down, how good do you think they feel?

Last time I checked it's not an AUFC supporters only forum
So no need to tell them to 'F OFF'

Cue Rabbit..or is that queue?
Some people tell me that we professional players are soccer slaves. Well, if this is slavery, give me a life sentence.

As many people have said before, this type of topic has been done to death so it won't be me starting it up again.
On the topic this time, I have only posted once and that was to wish Adelaide City all the best for the remainder of the season. I shook every players hand at the end of the game and wished them all well.
As for comments about sheep stations..... we certainly weren't playing for sheep stations, in fact you will rarely or never hear me talk about winning games of football. My aim is to try and get the kids to play good, attractive football and somewhere along the line the kids will hopefully be rewarded with some recognition of their talent....the same way my team last year was recognised.
I don't know who started the topic but it certainly would not have been from our group of supporters. That, I can assure you. With that said, we all look forward to our game against Campbelltown on the weekend. The Adelaide City game has gone and I am pleased we managed to learn something about ourselves and others along the way. Surely, that's what it's all about. We're enjoying our season, learning as we go and having fun. Good luck to the rest of you.

fun wrote:I am sorry to hear that you are appalled. Now, so am I. Before posting a topic one should think it a good idea to have the facts right. Let me help you and keep in mind I am only an informed and concerned parent.
1) The ACFC U15A squad consists of 14 players. 5 of these could still play U14.
2) Tuesday night 3 of these players were sick, another one was interstate. One of the sick players declared himself ready to play should the need arise (e.g. through injuries to more than 2 teammates) - so he was put on the teamsheet. To have a full squad 2 players from the U16 and one from the U15B (there would have been another 4 U16 players viable to play in the U15 age group). Let's do the maths: Squad-size 14 minus 4 not available = 10 + 1 sick player for emergencies = 11 + 3 fill ins = 14. My question: Why do you mention 5 players on the sideline? All the players present had fair game time and nobody was made to sit out and watch the game. The two players on the bench were at the end, the one who got injured on his ankle early in the match and the one "emergency sick player"
3) The coach appearently not knowing the name of the players is fairly slanderous comment. All the players are well known to the coach and addressed by their names.
4) Only 1 player was sent off and this in fairly dubious circumstances.
Now let me tell you what I am appalled about. The Para Hills Coaching staff employed tactics of provocation in tagging one of the AC players after he received a yellow card. This City player was constantly tripped, provoked verbally in the manner of the Materazzi/Zidane case solely to elicit a violent reaction so Para Hills can play the remainder of the match with a numerical advantage. Now this is what I would call appalling and since you seem so concerned about the ethics of the sport I propose you take this point up for discussion in your Club.
just let you know i am neither club but i think you have it wrong when you are calling para hills appalling .i would call the attitude of the lad that was sent appalling swearing and ripped his top off and when he got to sideline carried on again so i think that is actually worse than para hills tactics .I propose you take this point up for discussion in your club

Re: Juniors cheating to win
it is not cheating. para hills should be grateful - being able to play better players so they can develop more. it was a disgrace how the player got sent off but I am sure that will get addressed.
all you ppl that complain about dropping players need to stop worrying about ur team losing and get on wit it

a few years ago i played in an under 16 semi final of a cup against adelaide city, we were the underdogs, at half time we were 2-1 up and looking really good, adelaide city made 3 changes at half time, at the end of the game we lost 7-2. i will never forget the phone call on wed night after that weekend telling me that we have qualified for the cup final due to adelaide city playing 3 over age players.AND THAT IS A FACT. i have also been told that in the adel city, para hills game there was a player unregistered !

Must have been a PH player then! But honestly, this catch up match has now been discussed at length. With throwing in malicous comments like these, I cannot possibly see what good will come out of it. As I remember AC vs. PH matches in this particular age group were always conducted in the best possible and fair manner, the players had mutual respect and the supporters of both teams were on friendly terms. Nobody ever accused the opposition of cheating etc. I do hope that all this rubbish, which seemed to have been started by somebody without any stake in any of the two involved teams, will not have an adverse effect on future encounters between these good teams.
