East 5 - 2 TTG

East dominated 90% of the game on Sunday against an uncharacteristic Gully side. The only scaqre was when we went 3-2, but then came through in the end. Chrissy Miller getting BOG for his hattrick...

I dont usually come on here and bag out other people, but I have to say that O'Malley from Gully really did embarrass himself on the weekend. His side were clearly down and out, but he persisted with yelling at the ref and arguing every decision!!! It wasnt the fact that he has now placed the ref on his bad side for the resulting games, but he made a fool of himself by debating CLEAR decisions that were correct. Dont forget the poor decisions we recieved all day, the CLEAR penalty that wasnt awarded and the CLEAR goal by Cooky that was incredibly given offside when the TTG linesman didnt even call it. For lift your game buddy, because your team need you as a positive influence.

Vale 0 - Fulham 1

The last 2 weeks had been good with a win in the cup and an unlucky 1-0 loss to Parafield.

This week the reward was there for the effort and it was well deserved.

B's

Vale 2 - Fulham 1

Should have been a draw at worst for Fulham but couldn't put the couple of good chances away.

Have to say Eddie the ref isn't getting any better though...some shocking decisions
this game couldve gone either way with both teams missing chances. I dont think you can claim "should have been a draw at worst" when neither team could really complain if they lost! Did Vale steal it late? yup... a draw would've been fair but if you think Fulham deserved 3 points you're tripping

the only tripping we where doing was back to fulham with 3 well earnt points ...
dont believe I said anything about the As game :clown:

If you dont usually do something then why do it. Silly comment to make really and if you are going to encoarage & preach a positive attitude make sure your post reflects that because it sounds negative to me. Easy to give advice when youre top of the table and an expert all of a sudden.

Why is it that as soon as your team becomes top of the table that you arent able to post anything? I havent just became an expert, I always was!!! This was an issue that I felt really stronly about, because it was one of the most embarrassing things I have seen in all my time in the league. How can the post not be negative? I am giving somewhen crap for making a fopl of himself?!!

hey if we brought the rest of the crowd ie Trimboli and Old Redback that number would have doubled, unfortunately both were unavailable as they were playing over 35s as keeper and i do believe central midfield with options.

Yes marooned while I can't speak for that midfield genius Trimboli I certainly was a little on the peckish side on Sunday arvo and would have demolished a few of those Yiros's I am sure - will have to settle for finally sampling some of the much vaunted Thursday night yiros from Molls Cafe.

I was at the Eliz Grove vs Gully game,as a nuetral observer, few weeks back, and I agree that he does get vocal when disputing Ref's decisions-unfortunately his players follow his example. Even if you are right, you cant change the referees mind,I thought Gully were unlucky to have two handball decisions, inside the opposition penalty box, turned down,in the first half in that game,Grove had a couple of dubious calls against them, they just got on with the business. Judging by the way Mr O'Malley is respected by his players,he must do a lot of good work at the club, needs to understand sometimes things just dont seem fair, as hard as it is,need to have more discipline, keep working hard, eventually you will have some things go your way,and I agree with the second part of the last quote on the above paragraph.

Yeah I agree. Referees can be very frustrating - especially if you are not getting the rub of the green. Gully were unlucky against us, so I it surprises me that results aren't going their way. Andy is passionate - and is probably frustrated.

I'm sure AO is under pressure and reading this he would love to fire back no doubt. He would be frustrated with his team being 2nd to bottom and with at least (from what i have heard) 4 first team starters out of the line up due to injury. Derek is no doubt the biggest loss for them and it tells.
His actions though on sunday was a little over the top and i do think there needs to be a time in the game where you take it on the chin and say to yourself "its not our day". You dont want to give yourself and club a name of being a whinger/abusive to the officials.
There were some strange decisions all day long, but tell me a game where they get 85%+ decisons right while you have your rose coloured glasses on? There is no way both teams will be happy with a foul being called. One team will always complain.

My only real gripe with A.Omalley is that he didn't even come into the club for a drink even after we put 15 beers in their changeroom after the game for him & his players, poor form really. Well done to the other Gully boys who did stay around for a few bevvies & presentations after the game!

I can only assume you are talking about Joe and without seeing his performance I can't really comment however it does strike me a bit odd that he would "cheat" Joe loves his football and in the years I have known him has always been an ambassador of fair play. Curious what was your final score?
Top Gun Aurelio wrote: How many reserves games are extermely influenced by home referees and their selected whistle blowing I wonder, each week we read on here, "wait till our home game" to even up the poor referring. I can see the impact as quoted above, having had a dubious penalty awarded against us yesterday, not that our loss was totally the refs fault, poor finishing was the main culprit
I didn't think the ref was that bad certainly wasn't as bad as some of the other Division one referees, he missed a few incidents ie. a handball or two perhaps a dodgy offside but all in all he was fair and admitted that there was a player in his way when the handballs took place and he was unsighted and he had to go by his linesmans decision as it would be unfair to over rule him. I thought the penalty call was fair from where I was (two yards away from the ref) and no complaints can come from their second goal.
cole_trickle wrote: bolloxs. Outlaw was on fire giving keeper parctise. :D
Unfortunately Cole, Aurelio is correct and playing backpasses is a terrible side of my game that I need to lose however considering we had four genuine chances all game and only scored one is slightly forgivable. We are now staring down the barrell of a worse position this year than last and need to get some points under our belt and will have to do that missing the likes of TGA and myself not to mention some of the other automatic starters in our side. Unfortunate however lets hope we can pull ourselves out of the scrap heap.
