Southern Knights opened season 2010 with some exciting attacking football today as several players made their "official" debuts in Knights colours....Torsten Rutter and Graham Elrick (from Ingle Farm), Paul Martin (formerly with Port Lion), Juliano Campos (from Brazil) and substitutes Adrian Hobbs ( Blaenllechau Bluebirds ) and Brayden Leske (?)..
On the minus side Knights were without Sandy Neary (injured), Andre Rickers (injured) and Sott Bradley (susp).


The day began with a minutes silence (presumably for someone associated with Macedonia).


Southern Knights 2010 Club Captain Ben Jones and 2009 joint Division 2 Player of the year David Mooney both made determined starts to 2010.


Matt Daughtry troubled the Macedonia defence in the opening 10 minutes.


Keeping Torsten Rutter at bay ,however a short while later Macedonian to line up a wall.

Steve Maguire puts Knights in front 0-1 with a sweetly timed free kick.


Brief celebrations for Knights.

Within seconds Macedonia broke through and levelled the game at 1-1.

Matt Daughtrey re-establishes the lead at 1-2 to Knights.



Juliano Campos gets a good touch on a Macedonian attempt.

Macedonia came out with an initial burst of energy in the second half.



Lyndon "Tom Hanks" Parry recently returned from shooting "Castaway" looks at home on the beach in the centre of Macedonia's ground as he chases after "Wilson".

Torsten Rutter adds his first Knights league goal to stretch the lead to 2-5.
