madrids problem is they buy star players and try and fit them in there team and expect results... look at barcelona, they make star players(bringing them up from the ranks) who all play the same system, hence why they have dominated in the last couple of seasons. there was no shame in losing to them in the final because of that reason

No excuses, hey we didn't have our first choice centre back, nor do we have him for the rest of the season...our top goalscorer was also out of the clash, it was also away from home, at a stadium where fans religiously chant things like "we're going to kill a Spaniard", but no excuses...I would like to point out that Barcelona have been pretty lucky with injuries though...we had Ronaldo out for an extended period, Kaka out for an extended period, Pepe out for the rest of the season, Higuain now out for another 2 weeks (when he was really firing), Van der Vaart out (when he was starting to cement his spot in the starting line up) also a member of our last season squad (Spanish international Ruben De La Red) could be out for LIFE, but i'm not using these as excuses, it's just less than optimal for a team competing for the highest honours.

Also you'll recall at the start of the season I said, i'm happy to not win any trophies this season, because I feel with so many new players we have to gel (and contrary to the previous result it seems to be happening, we've had some pretty good performances this season, and genuinely i'm quite happy with the football all of the players have been playing).

It's obviously not an easy time for any Madridista, but our time will come again and Barca will be chasing us once again, having said that, we're still very much in the race for 2 trophies this season and i'm still expecting some good performances in both competitions.
