The Amateur league is becoming a bit of a nursery for Federation coaches !
Wouldnt be surprised if the first div loses around 10 of its best lplayers to these clubs.
Really?

Whilst coaches do bring and take players from other clubs, I wouldn't of thought that 10 would go back to feds. The lure of Amateurs is that the committment like Feds isn't there.

Of our top 5 players, only one might possibly head to a Federation club.

Who would you say are the top 10 players in the league?

I'm pretty sure Alan has the Salisbury job.

Which other Feds coaches are former Amatuer coaches. Both Alan and Earl were Fed coaches before they went to the Amatuers weren't they?

Maybe 2/3 downs players (would follow Mottsy).
Maybe big Chris Ennis.
Maybe 10 was an exaggeration - but I wouldnt be surprised if at least five go, as both coaches have Strong links with the amateur clubs.

No !
Earl began coaching seniors with Geoff Armstrong at the Vale.
Motts began senior coaching at the Downs.
Ivan Zafran began in amateurs also.
There are others that escape my memory and I'm not in a researching mood at present.

chris ennis would not leave the farm he loves the club and is very close to simo, so cant see him leave. greenwood has retired and jonesy has the same reasons as ennis does to stay. would say coxy to go back to feds, but thats about it. more feds players GOING TO the farm than leaving. mind you thats if the coach is staying! heard he hasnt comitted yet to next year.i keep asking but he wont tell me.heard downs could lose a couple to feds next year.

I can't see Danny Hain leaving unless offered really good $$$. He has a lot of family connections at the Downs. Tommy is a Downs boy for life. Would be interesting to see who he takes.

From us, Chris, Jonesy, Torsten, Matty Cocks, Evan, Eggers and Barry would all fit in comfortably at Premier League clubs. The rest of our guys could easily play state league I think. Hopefully none of them leave though.

Where you playing at next year Cantona?

I thought both Earl and Alan started in the lower ranks of Feds, didn't know they got their start at Amateurs.

Not sure Motts will chase players, I think he will have a good look at the players at Salisbury first, some players might want to follow him ( because he's well respected and liked) and players from neighbouring Fed clubs might look to Salisbury with him at the helm.

Motts has very strict guidelines for who plays in his teams - not sure that there are too many that could cut the mustard.....

They all know they could play Premier League but choose to play Amateurs. The club and the coaches then try to look after them both on and off the field making a good club enviroment so they stay.

$$$ always helps but its not the be all and end all. The new competition quality lights which are soon to be coming, the bollarding of the ground and the new clubrooms will help us to attract and retain players also.

Your mate Simo would of told you that anyway Emirates.

There are plenty of other players that can play their also from other clubs. Foat moved from Gardens to Salisbury and played pretty well. Crawford, Reeves, Nichols all played state league and played well. Spathors left Pontians to start each week for West Adelaide. Sandy Neary was starting most weeks for Adelaide Hawks and went to Southern Knights, Torsten Rutter was coming off the bench for the Hawks and came back to us so I think that its a fair comment to say that most of our guys, who come from the Federation system, could go back and play in it.

Of the players I mentioned, do you disagree with any of them?

Azza, definately. Robson, Hoey & Elliot spring to mind as very good Premier League players

There is probably only a very few who could consistantly play in the Super League that currently plays Amateur League.

where do you want him to say this from, the roof??? going by your theory, none of us can ever comment again about who could play where and at what level unless we have have played at that level. tell you what, it must be a very quiet and boring night at your joint when the english footballs on. no bugger would be allowed to have an opinion. i happen to agree with jas on the afforementioned players. this coming from someone who isn't always on the sidelines. anyways, you call that rose coloured specks? wait to you guys hear his views on the farm reserves. thats where the real talent lies. :D in conclusion, incase you were on holiday recently or something, it really is all about the farm right now. :P knock! knock!

Most players in the top 6 teams in sun prem league could play fed prems. Commitment to training is the only real issue. Congrads to the Farm on winning the cup, taken me 5 days to say it but well done and look forward to next season and taking the Rite Price cup back to where it belongs. Rangers to thump the hoops this weekend and king enrick to throw up in his weet bix monday morning. All good, respect.

:( and I thought I was winning the argument

Of course I'm biased. All the guys I mentioned are my mates so I'm going to talk them up a bit. I still think all those I mentioned could played Federation easily.

Heard the other day that Mottsy is looking at asking Danny Hain and Benny A. to salisbury and the big one is and you gotta remember it is only hear say that Bert has resigned. Personally I found this hard to believe and I have not seen anyone who might be in the know for awhile and I can only hope Bert is sticking around as he is a club and league legend.

Bert did quite well in his first year with 2 Runners-up in the League and the Cup.
Would be surprised if he left now unless it was for work or family reasons.
If it has/did happen I think Andy Dreyer could always step up to the plate.

Of course it was not going to happen, I was stiring the pot. Both Radford boys are well respected around the place however this might have been a good time for the club to have a bit of a change of direction. New coach means players must prove themselves once again which certainly doesn't do any harm to anyone. but, I'm certain the Radfords will have MP back in div 2 so long as they can keep the majority of the squad together and add a couple of fresh faces. Good luck boys.

would have thought that bert was only appointed for the year, so therefore he cant resign. the committee would have to go through an application / selection process again, where i think bert would be a candidate for sure. up to the committee then to make the decision, but would think they would appoint bert again for sure.
