Post by barbarian »

Hi All,
Below is some information for female soccer players of Hellenic(Greek) heritage aged between 16 and 30, interested in playing in the Pan Hellenic games.

The Oceania Pan Hellenic games are held every 2 yrs. This year they will be held in Melbourne from November the 27th/28th/29th. They are designed amongst other things to bring together young persons of Hellenic heritage from all over Australia and New Zealand by competing in sporting and cultural events of which football/soccer is one of the events offered.
Mens and Women's Football are a big aspect of these games. Any person of Hellenic heritage/ancestry, who is a permanent resident of Australia or New Zealand are able to apply and compete they need to be from the ages of 16 to 30 to be eligible to play in the Women's football and 18 to 23 for the mens football program.
The goals/objectives of the games are to strengthen the ties between Hellenics abroad, promote the ideals of the Olympic spirit through sport, and promote Hellenic culture through the sports and Arts.

Could all people associated with womens clubs please pass on this information to all the female women's clubs coaches/delegates etc, advising of this upcoming event and if they could advise any eligible/interested girls to contact either Maria Stoillas on 0402340186 or Nick Mylonas on 0402965860 or email nmylo@yahoo.com.au, they will pass on registration forms. Also If you require any other information they will be able to assist.

We will also advise when trials and trainings will be held leading up to the games. Nick Pantsaras (X West Adelaide national league coach, and X sa premier league coach) has agreed to assist with coaching the team.

If players or parents require any further information please do not hesitate to contact either Nick Mylonas or Maria Stoillas.
