This will not happen. United Allstars has been told by the SAASL to get a new ground for next season - games at Cowandilla Primary School are OFF. Do not be surprised if most of the African-based clubs play their home games at St Clair Oval or Woodville High School.

This will not happen either - confirmed to me by Club "management" and a former coach who may be enticed to come out of "retirement" to ensure it does not happen.

Isn't there still a chance that Falcons could still go up. They have a catch up game and with any restructures/clubs folding etc.. that might occur, the team in 3rd (or even 4th) could still go up.
We can't take Bridge as they are 7 points ahead with 2 games to go.
Given Iggies have the Pumas this week and thats it but we have Uni and Strath to go its most likely that we'll finish 4th.
4 teams can't get relegated from div 3 anymore becuase Flinders (2) also got relegated from div 3 so the 2 team in one div rule doesnt apply anymore as Flinders (1) will be the sole team in div 3.
At best 3 teams (Red Blue Eagles, Flinders (2) and possibly Bullets will go down)
If thats the case congratulations to Bridge for getting that last spot, if not make sure you boys beat those hacking pr*cks from Congo and win your catchup against Valley, we want revenge next season!
The point we got against Pumas 2 weeks ago secured 3rd for us I think but we are going into tomorrows game not even considering that 3rd will be good enough.. Its a MUST win game for us and is it's rgeat it all comes down to the last game to decide the last certain promotional spot..
From memory we have had a draw an a win against Simba this season so I have no doubt we have the quality to put this one away..
One Torrens Valley player sent me a msg pointing out that we would still need to beat them but we cant even think about that being a possibility! Iggies was a major hurdle last week (no farmer song at the end boys??) but tomorrow is going to be a cracker..

Interesting. Will he still be playing? He's about 84 by now. He's got a better record though, that the club he supports will have this season.
Iggies B's win the championship with a 3-0 win over Puma's on the last day, meaning the Falcons game is pointless anyway. If we play it, we will be asking to play it as a friendly.
I stupidly went on for the last 2 minutes and knee gone again in the first tackle.

a loss of some key players really cost us at the end of the season, iggies were first to the ball all day and took advantage of the poor set piece defending
wouldnt say the game played out as a lob sided game to iggies just looked like that on the scoreboard
look forward to more games in div 3, actually maybe we wont lol
well done to hawksey and the boys at old ignatians

Why would the club do that?
Because clearly we won't give a shit about the result or the game. In fact, what's the point in playing it. Send the E's down to play it, if we have to.

thanks mate.
As you said, 3-0 was a flattering scoreline for us. Some better finishing from you guys could have seen a very different result. Some dissappoint comments from some of the boys at the end but the people that mattered (you and Juve) were gracious and a credit to your club.
You guys had a great season and pushed us to the end. You know where we are next season if you fancy a change of club.
It was a great end to the season... even though we had lost 3-0.
it will be a good break till pre-season where im guessing the boys might work on defending a bit better because concedding to goals from corners isnt very good. we had the oppurtunities but were spooned.
It was a great game and Congratulations for winning the title!
we now look onto winning the Div 3 title in both A's and B's
btw A's was a good close game as well final score being 2-1

Precisely, otherwise you can pay the SAASL fine for forfeiting

I thought it was SAASL policy not to play unrequired catch up games.

Not sure about the TV v MB 0-0 being agreed but I dont see any point. It would not affect us or anyone else so really no point in playing..
We picked up so many injuries on Saturday against Simba that it would be mostly our reserve team playing anyway..
A third place finish in both Grades will have to do and I guess we can't complain. We had the lead on Saturday in the A grade but couldnt hold on to it so I guess it's our own fault.
A great effort over the season from both Grades and respectable placings I suppose. I think this league was tougher than Div 3 last year!
Flud wrote:I think this league was tougher than Div 3 last year!
I tend to agree with you, Flud. I saw several games last year and this year and apart from MA Hawks who I reckon will push for promotion to Div 1, Pumas, Simba, Murray Bridge and maybe Falcons would more than compete with the other Div 3 teams.

This year may be the case, but last year Div 3 had Sals Villa, Comets, Vipers and R/B Eagles (with all their players). The three promoted teams finished in the top 3 in Div 2 this year also.

We were in Div 3 last year with a much weaker squad and me coaching (clueless!) and still managed to take points from games against all the above mentioned teams.. Strangely enough we struggled against the weaker teams and hence our relegation. If we can keep the squad together we will push again for promotion next season (when I say we I mean they as I won't be here!) or if we do squeek a promotion this year then we will hold our own I am sure..
The match between ACU and OISC (2) in Division 4B was agreed to be made a 0-0 draw tonight after consultation with the SAASL, given that it does not affect anything on the table.
I am unsure if ACU did the same thing for their match with Strathalbyn in Division 4A.
swannsong wrote:Unplayed games might impact Divisional Best & Fairest awards and possibly leading goalscorer awards ?
The OISC fixture was a reserve fixture, so that was not relevant, but I can see your point for the TV v MB and ACU v Strath matches. Either way, the top scorer in this division is wrapped up and obviously we can only 'guess' what the votes have been.
