i read above that the 17's were doing votes to choose a captain....

is that the right path to go? In previous years i have found either the captain stands out or the coaches pick it...
seems to me its a little bit "local league" stuff to be letting the girls actually vote themselves...
yeah just my opinion...

the 15's r doing great.. excellent well done!

excellent results for 17's - will they make the finals?

the last state team that won was 2004 - ahhhhhhhhhhh what a team, when NO1 supported us from adelaide, we did it all by ourselves, correct me if im wrong in saying that though?!

the team that won before that was 2000 in queensland - on penalty shootout.

15's r doing good as well

keep it up girls!

Well by results before todays, in U/17, South Australia had to draw with NSW Metro today or better win, for SEMI berth.

U/15 is Tasmania must not lose by more than 3 goals against NSW Country for SA to get a finals berth.

They would know their fate by now.

quite clearly unacceptable.

both teams should of performed much better with the talent in both squads.

saying that it was quite mystifying how some players missed out.

Soory girls better luck next year. we are proud even though some people up there are obviously not.

Every year there is a flurry of activity and excitement and as soon as the team starts to fall away from title contention, people jump off their bandwagon. Lift your game peoples and support them to the end. Players do feel when the coach /officials /parents, etc start to lsoe interest.

Not everyone will know I am on about however, those who udnerstand will know.

cheers Shorty

It happens all the time. The girls should have the same level of supoprt and enthusiasm at the end as tehy had at the beginning. Once they don't meet expectations, its not a good place to be. Yep its disspaointing after all the hype at the beginning of the week but lets keep it in perspective.

when we went away in 2004 with wendy as our coach

we lost EVERY trial match leading into the championships, we were critisized from EVERYONE. then we went away and had 1 goal scored against us in the WHOLE tournament and once again EVERYONE then said the quality was crap......

you get that with everything i guess

goodie gumdrops?
who's u to say its unacceptable.
both of us put everything in.
17's struggled with half the team sick all through out the week, and players getting injured from the very begining. by the end of the week pretty much every under17 player was sick. was very hard on us.
we only lost that 1 game which knocked us out of semi's, tbh we should and could of been in the gf. but things happen and it didnt happen. it was hard on us girls but we played the 5th/6th play off like the gf, had excellent possession just couldnt get those shots in the back of the net, penalty shoot out was good, keeper did an excellent job dived the right way each time and just missed a finger tip on every shot. was just unlucky and wasnt ouur year!
15's done awesome, worked well as a team, played excellent football. same as the 17's. just we was both unlucky,
thankyou to all the supporters that came over and cheered us on :D

Thank you socca 13, for that report. Sounds like both teams were very competitive, and played a lot of good football. Well done. Looks more rosey for the future as far as SA Youth football goes. 8)

People who wear their heart on their sleeve express their emotions freely and openly, for all to see. Example: "She is kind of player who never hides how she's feeling. One look at her and you know if she's winning or losing." Reply: "She wears her heart on her sleeve."

You can see how these people feel as easily as if they were "wearing" their "heart" on the "sleeve" of their shirt. Example: "Some people love him and some people hate him, but my brother always lets you know how he feels. He wears his heart on his sleeve."

People who wear their heart on their sleeve do not hold back their emotions, for good or for bad. It is clear how they feel in each moment. Example: "She's a shy person. She's never been one to wear her heart on her sleeve."
