SUNDAY LEAGUE RESULTS - 2009/07/05

JayWalking, First thing Id like to say is "25 yards" is a bit rich was a great finish squeezing just inside the post but it was just outside the box and woulda been pushing 20 yards (taking nothing away from the quality of the placement!)

and although the call on the keeper holding the ball too long may have been a bit tough (never seen it called before, and in a c grade game :? ) he did have it a while, I was the vale player 'jumping in front of him' I was 2 or 3 yards from him and moving away when eddie pulled him up.

Was a good game by both teams, hard fought and in good spirits...
Was good to see The Vale Boys show some spirit after being slaughtered more than once this season

you were jumping in front of the keeper... can you even get off the ground????

Im not trying to tarnish anything.. that was one of the best days i have at your club you since we won the league there a long time... I just didnt like the '' you lose , you lose, f**k you while all the kids were standing there listening.. What does it teach them, Thats my opinion.

A very good game to watch out at West Beach today. East really looked up for the challenge and really shoudl have won the contest. Beach looked very much second rate and East dominated much of the play. East scored on a counter with a neat finish from Danny Reek in the second half with about 10-15 to go. Then East conceded an incedibly unlucky OG with five to go. Really lucky for Beach as they really didnt look like scoring any other way....

From a neutral's perspective of course.....

I saw this game and dont understand why east are still playing the fat twin who
scored the own goal? what happened to the other one that was a decent player?
shame to see easties near the bottom of the league

Elizabeth Vale V Ingle Farm
B's 1-5
B's went 1 up early but a silly mistake saw Vale draw level. From there we controlled the game really well with great passing and movement off the ball. Outlaw is looking very dangerous and might have scored 3, with Henrik getting 1 and Jamie the other. It was one of the better games I have seen the B's play this season.

Jay, probably best if match reports used real names rather than forum names.

Can't help it Jay- I am going to have to bite. Looking at your past posts Jammy I'm sure yoy know all this already but I will say it anyway. The person you are referring to is team captain, he does heaps for the club on and off the field (east through and through), he attends every training session, always puts in 100% and is a briiliant bloke to top it off. Any coach of our club would always put his name in the first few of any starting eleven. He would be absolutely gutted about the own goal- doesn't need you on here slagging him off.


Hopefully it is not too long before the other twin comes back home too. And by the way, they aren't fat they are just big boned. I would love to have their calves.

He is welcome to play down at the Beach....Best OG i have seen for a while! We just didn't really get out of 2nd gear on Sunday..probably due to the fact that the east boys gave it their all..

Scrappy game but any game were teams are fighting for points ... is never going to be a Classic!!It was a fair and tough encounter until that incident late in the second half. Don't need that sh!t in the game .. leave it to Barry Hall and the AFL lads It will be interesting to see what his ban is.. given a rep from the league was there!

ok jay walking fairplay but i still stand by my statement
i'll be there for the next game so i'll try and have a more informed
statement but feel it could be much the same. by the way nice to know

great game today with gardens and downs... played fair and hard.. Only dissapointing thing was the song afterwards. The only thing worse then sore losers is sore winners. I thought the downs had changed and was suppose to be a family club. I doubt you would approve of your juniors singing that song.

We have been singing that song for a number of years now as a club song, and even longer by the supporters. You goys would have rubbed it in if you won as well, so maybe a case of sour grapes?
As for a family club, did you look at the demografic of people at the game yesterday? was plenty of family people there, and heaps of kids. Both during the game, and in the club afterwards.
