Round of applause to...
FFSA, for organising 3 official referees for tonights Cup Game, Cumberland vs Campbelltown. And congrats for getting the game started 32 minutes LATE.
Well done FFSA, your efforts are just...truly..amazing and completely inspiring. You're really placing a positive impression on the women's game here in South Australia.

i havent read the whole topic - but that is ridiculous to think your game stated 32 minutes late - im going to back to my sexest talk, because that would never in a million years happen in a mens game.

Re: Round of applause to...

I've seen it happen this year.deigo wrote:your right shorty, would never see it happen in the mens league

Fortunately a linesman can jump in to ref the game when there's a no-show.
It happened in the cup semi with metro last year - a ref in the crowd took over the game.

Re: Round of applause to...
yeah but it seems to happen week in week out - its unfair to us who have a routine to have it screwed up by a ef not rocking up or being late etc.

Re: Round of applause to...
unfortunately for us girls playing on friday night we didnt have linesmen either haha!
but its good to know the options are mostly covered...
maybe it will take like half the season for FFSA/SAWSA to get their act together and bring the refs into line!

The story I got was that THEY forgot to appoint someone to do the game.
So I think there's a few parties that need to get their sh!t together.

Re: Round of applause to...
yeah thats it.
FFSA/SAWSA were notified of the game, but neglected to or forgot to organise refs.
fortunately for us, someone was able to get onto a ref who was willing to give up his night to come out and ref for us, hence the game starting late.
so thank you to the ref who came out at such late notice!

Now Now peoples. You don't want to be criticised for being too hard and not putting on a positive reply to a topic????
Fact is this. Our game (womens football) is pretty low on the agenda. Outside our world (an a mighty nice one I might add) its not held in the same regard as junuior boys or mens. Sad but true.
hence, the refs (if they do turn up) don't get paid as much as they do when they ref boys or mens games. So guess what gets first preference???
Pretty sad. But they choose one over the other.
Is it the FFSA or SAWSA's fault? In one way yes and on the other no.
Are there enough refs available in the first instance? If the Referee manager (or whatever title) has indicated that a ref will be available then one would assume he has spoken to him/her and they have accepted the job. Then if they don't turn up. I would be chasing up the Ref manager.
