Re: Night Games - Debacles
Lets just say SAWSA ground is shit and horrible to play on and really does need some fixing up, cant really expect players to play on it with massive pot holes in it let alone using it as a training ground for our state teams but at the end of the day its the only pitch we got.
End of story.

Re: Night Games - Debacles
Several points should be clear here.
If people are aware of syringes etc around then this should be reported back to FFSA. They in turn should be letting Council know if the ground is council owned. Why there is a duty of care by the FFSA to inform all clubs to 'Be Aware'.
Next I know people have cometted about Santos and I was one of them. This was and is a suggestion and as Mrs Trainer said comets use this area along with High jumpers runners andwhoever else higher the area, but and this is the but do comets train there or just play? I think and will stand to be corrected that Comets train on West Terrace and maybe another ground, therefore if FFSA don't ask we all dont' know.
It maybe we have no chance but one can only try. The other suggests of Para Hill modbury, Hindmarsh etc could and should all come into calculations as WE in teh Women's FFSA should now have the same right and access as the men in the FFSA and they have rights to play at Hindmarsh after all we are all one now aren't we?
I do agree the pitches at SAWSA PArk / FFSA Women's League headquarters aren't what you would say up to a suitable standard for good games. Training yes but games hmmm not really. If the number of teams and the game is growing, plus we are not part of the FFSA ' big league' then we in the women's leagues should be able to seek better pitches for night games, eg para hills, modbury, santos hindmarsh, and whoever else I have missed who may have good pitch with good lights.
Last I know the syringe issue has been talked about a lot on the men's forum so there should be some procedure within the FFSA structure on how this issue is tp be handled, if not then theer should be. The FFSA need to know about the syringes, if they do and do nothing then they run the risk of insurance claims and or 'problems' etc if someone gets hurt, injected by a syringe lying around as they have failed to act upon information provided, however if no club has given the FFSA this in writing then we all should take some responsibilty to advise the FFSA to give them an opportunity to fix the problem.

haha, i never said if you've never been involved in the game
i said if you're not involved in the game
which you're not. anymore.
and the FFSA like most government bodies seem to do nothing
we never said we thought they were safe.

very true. who would allow people to be put into potentially risky situations. i also agree with comando, it isnt her responsibility to deal with such problems its people who have nominated themselves into such positions of responsibility within the federation that should be indentifying these potential hazards and eliminating them before they create major problems.Comando wrote:exactly .. so why WAIT till something happens!

Re: Night Games - Debacles
so just curious.
considering we all know that something needs to be done, why not take some friggin initiative and tell someone so that it can be done.
it would take one email, or one phone call.
probably about the same amount of time as making a post on the forum.
we know something needs to be done. its pretty much unanimous. it just needs someone to take action, so i just dont see why someone whose so worried about it wont do it.

Re: Night Games - Debacles
because we shouldn't have to do anything about it as i have previously stated. there are people who are in positions of responsibility who should have the diligence to identify these problems before they are even a twinkle in the eyes of people like myself and comando.

Re: Night Games - Debacles
i was under the impression people on the forum were actually worried about some of the issues in womens football.
the fact that you wouldnt be willing to do anything about something like this that you obviously feel so strongly about kinda says otherwise.
i cant believe some people (and no, not all people) are so unwilling to do anything to help out womens football or ffsa, yet are quite willing to sit and bi*ch about what they think should be done.
this is clearly going in circles, so its probably the last thing im gonna say on the matter... unless someone else has something worthwhile to add.

Re: Night Games - Debacles
Changeling....Obviously you are closely connected to the "FFSA" by way of friendship or other arrangement so hence your comments.
Thing is changeling its NOT a players responsibility its the clubs and the FFSA.
FF sake, they cannot even get the application of the hot weather policy right. People are still training and playing trial games when its 56,000 degrees. I am yet to see a game / trial postponed. The FFSA is the authority which governs the game.
There is no leadership. There is no players forum in which they can attend and put their cases forward directly to the FFSA. So, the next best thing is Football news forum which is read by all.
Secondly, I have never seen a consistent application of game cancellation because of a crappy field like at Sturt's ground. There is always umming and arring about whether or not a game should be cancelled because it is water logged. Team coaches are not even clear on what to do. Even when the lighting is CRAP!!!!!
Thirdly, how many effing games were postponed til season's end last year? Stacks. Where is the FFSA policy being policed stringently in game postponement.
So I suggest you only comment if there is something constructive to say that adds to the debate. we live in a democracy. Otherwise go and work for sasi and FFSA where its different.

Re: Night Games - Debacles
actually i have no friends in FFSA or SASI...
i just dont see why its so hard to NOTIFY someone who has the power to look into something and make some changes.
all im saying is that complaining gets people nowhere. it just goes around in circles and no1 ever has anything new to say. thats the point im trying to make. its all well and good to complain, but ffs complain to the right people! not other people on the forum who have just as little power as you do to make the changes.
its really not that hard.
send an email to someone who cares, dont have a go at me for being able to accept that things arent always easy to change, or because im able to accept things the way they are, no matter how crap i feel it may be.
ohhh wow big woop, lets post our complaints on the forum and reiterate how bad womens soccer players have it, but no lets not go out and try and talk to someone who can make a difference.
i am well aware that basically all of sawsas or FFSAs policies are a load of crap, i wouldnt even bother trying to deny that. im just trying to make the point that no amount of complaining on the forum is gonna change anything.

and also if the FFSA or SAWSA aren't doing anything about it, i know, yes, its not technically the players responsibility, but that doesn't mean we/they can't do anything about it!!!
but oh, i see, because it is presumed that the footballnews forum is read by everyone, complaining on here is enough. right. yes. that makes all the sense in the world.
i'd like to see all you complaining do that job better. because i'm sure there is a lot more to it then what you think.

i myself, and im sure a number of people who are putting there opinions forward, are in no way claiming to be able to do ''these'' peoples jobs better. whatever there job is. i just don't see why ''these'' people nominate themselves into such positions of responsibility if they aren't willing to dignify the role with the respect it, and also womens soccer, deserves. if ''these'' people aren't going to execute these positions of so called power with care and thoughtfulness towards the game, players, coaches, clubs and the like, then why the hell are they taking on that responsibility?ecky_8 wrote:i'd like to see all you complaining do that job better. because i'm sure there is a lot more to it then what you think.
this goes far beyond the syringe issue, bad lighting and whatever else was windged about in this thread.
