San Marco ( 1 ) Southern Knights ( 0 ).....with pics

Post by swannsong »

Reserves - San Marco ( 0 ) Southern Knights ( 0 )
Only a couple of shots close to being on target for the whole game, frustrating to watch.
Draw probably the deserved result for both teams.

San Marco ( 1 ) Southern Knights ( 0 )

Some good patches of play from both teams. I heard San Marco supporters (players) talking up their goalkeeper and he lived up to the talk with some good saves and clearances.
The only goal of the game came early in the second half, a well taken header from an excellent cross.
I'm not sure of San Marco's team status (ie injuries etc.) but they seemed to string together some good passing moves.
Knights were missing several 1st team regulars through overseas travel, interstate work, new births etc. and several players were carrying injuries. Added to that Knights lost 2 players through injury in the first half.
Despite that both teams had opportunities to add to the scoreline and San Marco were probably relieved as the final whistle sounded.

Image
The midfield was congested and difficult to break down for both sides.

The Southern Knights woes begin to compound !

An excellent save by San Marco's keeper from the ensuing free kick.

Knights slightly off the mark in the early stages !

Iceberg sums up San Marco's keeper's temperment !

Sorry camera battery died on me !!!!!!!!!

nice work Swansong, would have to agree with you on the b's, a terrible game to watch and in the end the Knights could have easily taken the points with a couple of chances late in the game, in the a's we are still missing a couple of key players and the goalie yesterday is a gun, he is even better on the field but is carrying an injury at the moment so we cant wait for him to regain full fitness

Digi is very good on the field, but he is a better keeper than he is a field player!

Is George still out there as a keeper?

That's a tough one Aldo i have seen Digi in full flight as a keeper and on the field and he can turn a game on the field in the space of 10 minutes, the guy is a freak maybe we could clone him and have one at each end of the ground.

Yes George is back this year but couldnt play coz of the greek easter.

Agreed, although I don't think either side deserved to win in the B's

Must say the B's Referee was very good, although didn't have much to do, was a very friendly - perhaps too friendly game

How funny was it when the Ref in the 1st team game took a tumble, didnt he look like more of an idiot then he already is.

I think that people who try to label others as "tools" should take a good look in the mirror.
Like I said previously, no more a tool than some of those passing judgement on offside decisions when they were 100 metres away at the opposite end of the ground.

I am entitled to my own opinion, the ref on Sunday for the 1st team game IMO is a tool, in terms of people making calls from the sidelines on offside calls I suggest you build yourself a bridge coz YOU are never gonna stop people from making stoopid comments. :D

Don't need a bridge, there is nothing to get over.
I never said that people would stop making stupid comments....just suggested that I've heard more tools on the sidelines than I've seen in the
centre of the park.

What's with the sloping sides to the Campbelltown pitch, you need to abseil up to get back onto the pitch ?

it has to with the drainage, a few years back when they relayed the surface they did it that way, trust me it worked coz the last game of last season we played Postel and it absolutely pissed down for about 30 minutes while the B's were playing and there were puddles everywhere (which i loved playing on) and by the time the a's started the pitch was good to go, if that was the old pitch there was no way you could have played on it.

I don't condone it at all, but if it was justified at any game I saw last season that was it.
