Schedule of games etc

Post by adelaidepie »

Hi all,

As has been mentioned by many people the scheduling of games, the demise of the reserve grade etc has not improved the comp but has put a strain on many teams by the lose of players.

For some reason FFSA has decided that Div 1 kicks off at 1.00pm while prem are at 3.00pm. no problem with the prems but why 1.00 for Div 1. Surely everyone knows that Div 1 is the top team for those clubs. so now the div 3 teams have to kick off at 3.00pm. Whats the issue with this? Well now the clubs resever players for the top team are having to sit on the bench for the top team and then try and get a game with the div 3 teams.
These players are the ones who will be on the bench not the 'seleted 11'.

Why but why can the div 1 team not play at 3 like the prems? Giving the div 2 and 3 teams chance to play and then use the top players of this grade to sit on te bench for the clubs top team not the othe way around which it currently is?

Also FFSA cancelled games during pre-season becauase the whether reached or was scheduled to reach 32 yet this weekend game were played when the temp reached this figure!. So why were the refs not told before hand to provide drink breaks because of the temp and also why were games played when they weren't santioned as friendlies? You can't say no today and then yes tomorrow, it's either no game or set a correct temp like 36 which most other sports do and stick to it. Don't change the rules ike what took place Sunday.

Last glad that most coaches took the set to seek breaks for their players as the refs weren't doing this.

Yeah it was hot this Sunday! Very hard to play good soccer out there. Surely refs should allow drink breaks if it's hot like that.

Didn't know that Div 3 had to play after Div 1 but yeah it isn't very smart :o Like in the prems the Div 2 girls play beforehand not after...

Does FFSA mandate any other start times besides the Prems? I believe that this issue was brought up before the start of the season and that it was decided that Prems would start at 3PM, but that clubs were free to decide other kick off times. Does anyone have any info on this issue? I think that the FFSA might be flexible on this- in spite of what some people write in this forum, Wendy Carter in very open and reasonable and wants what is best for the growth and development of the women's game.

As has been stated on here unfortunately the FFSA has mandated that Div 1 start at 1.00pm and prems at 3.00pm. Most div 3 games are also around 1.00pm, so either div 1 and 3 play at the same time or the div 3 games have to be changed because of the scheduling.

you would think that most clubs would prefer to see their top team play last! but maybe I am wrong and this was a delegates decision? But I don't think so.

Still nothing can be changed now.

Its 34c in mens and that caused a problem with second game of season where all games had to finish by 11am or start after 5pm.
