Saturday C Divisions
Have been restructured. There are now 15 'C' teams in Division 5 and Division 6. When were the SAASL going to tell us that everything had changed?

Is that 15 total? as in 8 in one and 7 in the other, or 15 in both.
They take so long because they are voluntary and a commitee.

If you're having Spurs problems I feel bad for you son
I've got 99 problems but the Yids ain't one.
PS: Spurs remain a quality side, I don't care what you say. The Feyernoord Jubileum Tournament doesn't win itself, you know.

Yeah, 8 and 7. It just sucks because we had planned alot of triple and quintuple headers and given out fixtures to everyone. Now, our Es will get delayed another two weeks (season doesn't start till 2/5).Twitchyarry wrote:Is that 15 total? as in 8 in one and 7 in the other, or 15 in both.

Can't do much but just wonder at what the %&^$ is going on at the league.
According the league website for sat division 6, Rounds 4 & 5 are scheduled to play before round 1 and on top of that, Rounds 1, 2 & 3 are separated by at least a month in between each game.
I was too scared to look any further!

Have any other teams in Div 6 noticed that the fixtures on the SAASL website are different to the fixtures that Bill Bailey emailed us about 10 days ago? Makes it extremely hard when the league is meant to start this weekend? We are down for a bye on the website, but playing Hahndorf in the fixtures he emailed

Re: Saturday C Divisions
Apparently the fixture on the website is the correct one.
Which means that whenever our Div 6 side plays at home, none of our other teams do. Which is crap because the original fixture had us all at home.
RIDICULOUS.

That is rediculous. There are several things that Perth seems to do better and this would be one of them. As for us, I think Ahos said he was going to try and switch ties if the other party was okay to it.Kitchimo wrote:Which means that whenever our Div 6 side plays at home, none of our other teams do....

Re: Saturday C Divisions
This is slightly unusual for the SAASL, normally fixtures work out pretty good for clubs with 3 or more teams.
More than likely there has been a lot of clubs hoping to field C-D teams that hasn't come to fruition.
The Womens teams have been left floundering by the indecision of several established clubs.
Unfortunately every club can't field 3 teams or more....then it would be quite simple !

Well we got an email saying that the league was structured as it was to incorporate the C teams playing at the same venue on the same day as the A team when they were at home to opposition from the same division...and it worked perfectly for us - and then suddenly changed, reasons unknown.A Mature League wrote:This is slightly unusual for the SAASL, normally fixtures work out pretty good for clubs with 3 or more teams.

It sounds like they are 5 teams short for the 2 divisions, give your D & E teams to less fortunate clubs...stop being greedyKitchimo wrote:Well we got an email saying that the league was structured as it was to incorporate the C teams playing at the same venue on the same day as the A team when they were at home to opposition from the same division...and it worked perfectly for us - and then suddenly changed, reasons unknown.A Mature League wrote:This is slightly unusual for the SAASL, normally fixtures work out pretty good for clubs with 3 or more teams.

Re: Saturday C Divisions
I think what they do in Perth is draw up a template fixture which would apply to all divisions (ie. 1v2, 3v4, 5v6 etc.) and look who has multiple teams and assign them the same number and the clubs with just one two teams get assigned a number that's left over. It means that on away days social teams (ie. c's) may be at a different ground to the firsts and reserves, but when at home all are at home.A Mature League wrote:This is slightly unusual for the SAASL, normally fixtures work out pretty good for clubs with 3 or more teams.

Re: Saturday C Divisions
Rather than blaming the leauge, I blame the clubs who can't/don't organise a team. To many times in the C's a club or two pull out before the season has started. Iggies must be doing something right as they have 5 teams. Maybe clubs should look after their C's better and then this problem wouldn't occur or ask for some rego money up front so that a players feels more obligated to come out and play each week.
Re: Saturday C Divisions
I just saw this thread.
I rang up the league and spat the dummy when I noticed the late changes to the C's fixtures a couple of weeks ago.
We were in the same boat Kitchimo. We'd organised bookings of our pitch, organised fixture swaps, given players their fixtures, and had our web designer post it all on our site.
The league did not even advise they'd made the changes and I didn't find out till one of our C's told me.

Re: Saturday C Divisions
Sorry to say but there is something seriously wrong with the software they use to create their fixtures. Either that or they have put very little thought into it.
If they schedule the league to suit the majority of the teams then most would be happy. 5 of the 8 teams have A's and B's playing in Division 2. In my opinion the priority would be to keep the C's TIED with the A's and B's at all times, and use the remaining fixtures for byes and games against teams which do NOT have teams in DIV 2.

Re: Saturday C Divisions
It's a bloody joke, three weeks ago we were looking at a full season of 22 matches, and now we have 14 matches with two teams having a bye each week. We have six byes for the season apparently. Fourteen matches is half a season. A league with eight teams should surely play three rounds (i.e. 21 matches). Even the Collegiate League used to get that right...
