Exactly. Well said Shorty. The whole "sky is falling" argument is getting a little old. Don't be a part of the problem. Be a part of the solution. Lead, follow or get out of the way.

Observations from Charity Game.

Metro so dominated the game it was hard to read much into it.
Metro could and should have easily had another 3 or 4 goals but their finishing…
Metro are frustrating to watch at the moment as they can so dominant a game but then not be able to finish…if its hard to watch then it must be very frustrating for the coach!
Metro do look like they could be awesome if they pull it all together.
The game from an observer’s point of view appeared over about ten minutes in once Metro had scored and were dominating play.
I recall only one serious shot on goal by Sturt which even then didn’t require a keeper save.
If they were without key players then the playing standard on Sunday is understandable.

Considering the show case status the Charity game is supposed to be, Sturt looked way underprepared, that had to have been disappointing for the organisers.

From my observations of the cup, Metro outplayed Sturt early. Got a good lead then took their foot off for a while. Sturt appeared to have two young keepers who both will learn from the game. Metro could have had a bag full but saying this we all know coaches fox a little when it comes to pre-season. my only hope is that although Sturt can improve they will need to do so by some margin otherwise the team of last year is well behind.
Metro looked a class act and never looked like being in trouble. They will however have to maintain their drive against a better team otherwise taking their foot off could be costly against a better team.

All in all probably didn't do much for the 'promotion of the game' but that is neither here nor there. This week is the start of it all.

Another little point it was sad to see that the crowd appeared down on last year. Whether this was due to promotion of the game, the teams playing or that there wasn't a star game before hand I don't know but maybe next year we could have the 'star game', by the way of celebs next season again?

Just a point.
Good luck to all.
