that switch to riera and his goal were class
wouldn't say world class, trajectory was all wrong, too much float in it ;)
kuyt isn't the most technically gifted player, but then again, neither is torres. this morning you saw the worst of him, his passing was fucked, his touches (which happens pretty often) were minging, poor guy just couldn't get it right today.
the difference is consistency. torres doesn't have as many games like that as kuyt does, but no matter when kuyt has one of those days, he puts his head down and works his bollocks off to make up for it. you need guys with guts like that. look at o'shea and fletcher for man u, neither of them are that flash (though fletch can be really impressive SOMETIMES), they'll work their cunce off but aren't anywhere near their colleagues in terms of quality.
kuyt has scored the 3rd most goals for the club again, so he's finding the back of the net semi-regularly which is good to see, especially from the wing (yeah, ronaldo does it better, no shit). i find when kuyt is having a good day, he looks really really good. he does that one turn really well, where he'll have the ball played into his right foot with his back to goal, while his bodyweight is going left, he'll stop and get the outside of his right foot on the other side of the ball and turn to the right. he did that this morning, throws the defender off nearly everytime.
sure his vision/awareness isn't that great, but he can create enough chances for himself to eventually deliver it to a teammate for a good scoring opportunity.
compare him to the likes of nunez (fuckin' hell, just seeing his name makes me cringe) and you'll see he is a massive improvement.
on another dutch matter, babel must be fucking spewing (if i haven't said that already this thread). why is n'gog getting a kick ahead of babel? i really don't understand. only thing i can think of is we signed him to use him as bait in a swap deal for someone decent.
