Yes they will be played on the 28th of Feb but would be borught forward by an hour if the AU team made the GF.

Zeljko, the inference drawn from your reply would be indicative of a player's choice of club being prejudicial to his/her chances of progression through the various FFSA "pathways" and the like just because of where they play. Surely the player's progress should be based on their skill and ability - if they're good enough they should be eligible for inclusion. Why pay money to the FFSA for Academies/Development squads, the pre-cursor to their "Football Pathways" if at the end of it all the player's progress is determined by which club he/she plays for?
On that basis, get rid of the pathways, make the clubs responsible for the development of the kids and leave it up to the FFSA to get their scouts out and about to the games to identify the talent.

No I think the inference that Zeljko was making is that the certain club took the under 12-comp way too seriously. The inference your talking about is the standard approach (by coaches making up their super teams) to players from other clubs eg: “ he needs to be at a better club than where he is now”, or “he will get nowhere if he stays at that club” etc, etc I’ve even heard of a FFSA assistant coach telling a parent that they just don’t get out to see the lower division games and he should be at a ‘better’ club as in P.hills or Mods because that’s where they do most of their scouting in the N. suburbs.

Was'nt it just a year or so ago when people were saying to get into SASI you need to play at P.Hills, so the perception is out there already. True or false its out there, lets be honest how many parents take their kids out to top clubs because they think their little Timmy will have a better chance at getting into a developement squad, play state or SASI from there. I know a few!!

This competition deserves the full support of everyone, my opinion only, not only is a great pre season format, but what a great challenge for any team/club, you sense its toe in the water stuff for the FFSA, i can only hope whilst there is opportunity South Austrailian Teams will compete, a winner for round ball football.

I for one hope it continues for a long time and also opens up a few other age groups and includes a girls comp.
Good luck to all teams and lets hope it is played in good spirit by ALL

Great result for Enfield...I thought Modbury might be one of the sides to beat!

They probably still are - would still expect to see Modbury (and Enfield!) at the pointy end of the finals next week.

Fairly even game with few chances for either side. Enfield might just have had the edge, Modbury would probably argue the other way.

Don't the individual state winners have to play off against each other to determine who goes to England?

And then they have to play an asian qualifier (including New Zealand) before they pack their bags for Europe

From the FFSA web site
The winner of the South Australian playoff will travel to Melbourne in April to take on other State winners in the Australian Finals. The winner of the Australian Finals will take on the Winner of the New Zealand Finals in a “Pacific Final” with the winner to travel to Manchester, England to take on clubs from around the World.
