Re: Adelaide Red Blue Eagles FC-PLAYERS WANTED
I have to agree with Nugget.
Its great to see so many teams joining but how does this effect the league?
In the near future I see many sides folding due to a lack of man-power off the field.
Since Ive been involved in a greek club, ill take the following Greek perspective, we have seen in the past few years Limnos fold and before that Hellenic and Rodos. Since Navarino started up we have seen the re-formation of Asteras and the introduction of the Vipers. Too me it seems like the same resources are doing the rounds.

Thought RBE had a good young squad, surely they all just didn't dissapear.
Anyways all the best to them and good luck with the player situation.

What if the SAASL let in another 10 more new clubs join this season,
that would certainly affect every club in the league including yours, because the player pool would certainly be less & quality would suffer. At some point in time they need to ceiling number of clubs I believe.
Your clubs struggling to get players! & there's a bunch of clubs in the same boat.
Also there's a distinct lack of keepers in the league let alone quality & by the way they keepers don't grow on trees!
And your responce is well said to what the Power04 wrote? You Muppet.....
Like I said wish your club & all the new clubs allready in the league well, but I can't see how your club will with simpltons like you involved in the running of the club...

Sorry nugget, but if your club was so great you would've done what Cove just did.
And all clubs need a point of origin - just like you said, you were a foundation member, but all that means is that a generation back then were willing to start a team and breed like crazy to keep it going for decades to come...we're just starting the breeding program now

(sorry couldn't resist, but Nugget66 get a grip. None of these teams are within your 'catchment' area of players.)
Re: Adelaide Red Blue Eagles FC-PLAYERS WANTED
i don't think he's specifically talking about his team, just the sport in general.Kitchimo wrote:Yeah, it took the Greeks 5,000 years to turn their women the other way around!Lucas Leiva wrote:Sorry nugget, but if your club was so great you would've done what Cove just did.

I see his point, but I also think he's wrong. It won't dilute the top teams because apart from a few exceptions, the player who signs for RBE is not looking to play for PG or even wanderers (to use someone in a similar catchment area), they want to play with their mates or at a specific level rather than playing for a team at the top level.
I'm sure PG are decent enough blokes (certainly never had a problem on the pitch with them) but I wouldn't go there because I'm happy enough at my own club. I could get in their reserves of that I'm pretty sure, but for the same reason I wouldn't join RBE first team, I'm pretty happy where I am. Let's see after a season in division 4 if i feel the same though.

Good luck to you but you wont do it without juniors these days if you want to build a strong club long term.Lucas Leiva wrote:Sorry nugget, but if your club was so great you would've done what Cove just did.

Sunday league is very strong and its not easy to get to div 1 many never do some it takes ages The Cove were in Sunday league but they like others take the easy road to div 1 by playing in Sat league (Adel Villa an exception). As for state league its an expensive exercise for little gain lets see how long it lasts and they'd take anyone in that comp FFSA need more rego fees.

Im not talking about my club it's fine, I'm talking about the association in general. I find it hard to believe that especially clubs struggling for players dont get it. I understand people want to play with there mates, & at there own level
but why do they have to start a new club to do that when there in 140 in our association? To say that new clubs dont have any effect on the amount of new players clubs get off the street is stupid & nieve... You only have to look at the metro league, why dont they just start 10 new clubs? Why.....
because there isn't the players, support & structure available to do that.
take out 20 clubs from our association & then what would happen? there would be a influx of players to other clubs...
It's not rocket science....

Re: Adelaide Red Blue Eagles FC-PLAYERS WANTED
There's a big problem for clubs like Gardens and others in Div 1 Sunday to follow the Cove and go FFSA, it's called fences. The FFSA demands that all State League and above clubs have fenced pitches and grounds on which to play, amongst many other items, and most SAASL clubs use public grounds that are owned and managed by the local council. So unless you are very lucky and the council is very nice it's highly unlikely that you can get a public oval fenced off for a single clubs usage.
Knowing the grounds at Gardens well, it would take a quality oval away from the general public, plus as teams continue they need to get seating, etc and can you see stands being put into the middle of a public oval and again reducing the ground availability and lastly, they play cricket there on that lovely concrete wicket so a fence next to it wouldn't help the game.
This same issue would apply to many clubs who could potentially go State/Premier/Super League and from my experience with Gardens they have the facilities, money, support and people to do it. Just compare their clubrooms to many others.

It will happen one day in fact we could probably do it tomorrow but the way the soccer landscape is at the moment no point jumping in like Cove just to say we are in federation. All going well down at the Gardens dont need to have the FFSA sticker on our door to say we are on the soccer pathway.J5 wrote:There's a big problem for clubs like Gardens and others in Div 1 Sunday to follow the Cove and go FFSA, it's called fences. Come down on the next few Sundays and see the number of people coming down to enjoy good local soccer you dont need a grandstand the one at Marden is always empty so whats the point of building one.
There would be many clubs that would love to have an oval like ours its nice and green

Re: Adelaide Red Blue Eagles FC-PLAYERS WANTED
funny that those of you like Power04 that strongly disagree with my views on new club's entering the SAASL,
& by the way it's new club's entering, not existing new clubs!
can't explain why they disagree & put forward points why new clubs are good for the Association.
Instead they just dribble on about crap.....
would make you think, are they just simpletons.....
YES.

Re: Adelaide Red Blue Eagles FC-PLAYERS WANTED
Cmon cry babies... who cares if there are new clubs? More people are playing the game now than ever before. Every club has started from nothing - even Parafield Gardens. Parafield Gardens like many other new clubs back in the day were lucky enough to establish themselves in an era of very little competition...a clear head start.

Re: Adelaide Red Blue Eagles FC-PLAYERS WANTED
I dont see the problem, its not like a new club is going to steal enough existing players from established clubs to put that club into problems, its just the same ol clubs doing the rounds. You will never have too many teams for too long because the clubs with not enough players/revenue will fold.
If you're having Spurs problems I feel bad for you son
I've got 99 problems but the Yids ain't one.
PS: Spurs remain a quality side, I don't care what you say. The Feyernoord Jubileum Tournament doesn't win itself, you know.

this is the thing...
We are a established club with great facilities & structure so really I couldn't give a rats how many clubs the SAASL let's in; you right aint going to affect us one bit I just don't think it's a good thing to happen for the struggling clubs for obvious reasons your just going to have the round about of new clubs. I might be right, I my be wrong? Good luck to all the clubs struggling i hope you pull through. Elizabeth fields is a great example in DIV.1 2 years before they folded???
